    4k upscale at Xbox one S makes BIG improvment over XBOX ONE S?


    Χbox one S CAN upscale games to 4k when requirments are met?(4k Tv,hdr10)

    Does it improve picture resolution and makes it smoother ,so you can see a big difference between 1080p content vs 4k upcaled games content?

    Also does it plays 4k content upscaled in multiplayer?

    What are your thoughts with the Xbox One Slim?

    BluSwirl, I'm not sure what you are asking for but if it is if the Xbox One S will Output Display at 1080p for a 1080p HDTV, then yes it will.

    Keep in mind though, the Xbox One S will Output all Xbox One (and BC Games) at 4k Upscale as well. It is not just for Media but Games as well. This is Upscale though adn not Native. imo Upscale from 900p to 4k is going to look like butt, again better to wait
    for the Scorpio to come out for Native 4k (or at least closer).

    I was interested in getting a Xbox one S but I want to know Is it true that the Xbox one S doesn't render games in native 4k and instead it plays at 900p and upscales it to 4k cause it doesn't have the hardware to support true 4k Gaming?

    That's incorrect.

    RDR 2 runs at 864P internally on both original Xbox One and One S. Original Xbox One can upscale this image to 1080P, while the One S can upscale to 4K.

    Only the One X runs the game natively in full 4K, with a dynamic scaler in action.

    It's important to stress that there is a big difference between upscaling, and running a game natively.

    I would say running this game on an original console or One S on a 1080P display won't be too bad, but would look quite soft - or washed out on 4K display, unless you're playing on the One X.

    To Chanogram: this makes no sense, so games are upscaled to 4K from 1080p but movies that are 1080p are not upscaled as well? What a blind spot. All should be upscaled. Makes absolutely 0 sense to have a program to upscale 1080p games ( though I heard
    most Xbox one games run at 720p) but that same program cannot upscale 1080p movies to 4K? As I said in another thread, this $400 Xbox should have the upscale capabilities of any $100 upscaling blu-Ray player and it should stream all of netflix's UHD content.
    It does neither. Wah wah.

    also, Netflix doesn't stream 4K on the Xbox One S. I checked, Flight of the Butterflies is a 4K title but only says HD on the title page when viewed on the Xbox One S. My tv's Netflix app lists it as 4K.

    Although both the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X can both stream 4K, only the One X is capable of true 4K gaming. I would recommend the XBox One X over the XBox One S because it only one that can truly do 4K gaming! The XBox One S can upscale 1080p games
    to 4K but isn’t a real 4K console, although it can play Blu-Ray in 4K. The XBox One X is the first console to truly be able to stream 4K gaming, plus it has a Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray player!

    Gaming with 4k on Xbox One S

    Xbox One S and X does not support 4K at 120hz and to get 4K at 120hz you need a HDMI 2.1 port on both console and TV,

    also the Xbox One S is a 1080p console that upscales to 4K unlike the One X which is 4K console.

    Xbox One S will play 4K Blu Ray's

    Xbox One X will play Game in 4K if they are Enhanced with 4K Support + 4k Blu Ray support

    They Xbox One X will also Upscale on a 1080p screen so you will see some benefit of the Xbox One X
