4k looks white washed?

When I turned my 4k settings on all my games look whitewashed. I tried calibrating with the settings on the Xbox and in game display settings if they have it but I can't seem to get the fog out of colors. Red looks almost orange. Anything white is almost blinding. Black looks gray. I turned the brightness and backlight down on my TV and it helped but it's still faded. For the calibrations I followed the on screen instructions (barely see the checkerboard, make them all the same). I only have this issue with games. Apps and the home page look fine but as soon as a game goes on the color fades. Any advice? Is it supposed to look like that?

Also tried using 2 different wall sockets. Still didn't fix it so I don't think it's a power issue.

Glad its back to normal. Sounds like it was the TV picture settings. Resetting to default color, brightness contrast etc. was good idea and using Xbox auto detect is recommended.

Fixed it. Turned 4k off on Xbox settings. Then reset the default picture settings on the TV, then turned them all back on. Turned the 4k back on in the Xbox settings and the white wash was gone.

Yes I had to do that to even access HDR settings on the Xbox. The only setting I see for white point is 11 point white balance correction and I don't know what any of that does. Gain is at 5% and red blue and green are all set to 50. I don't want to mess up the picture for everything. The games are playable they are just faded and gray and I'm not sure why or how it randomly happened.

The only other thing on the strip is a PS5 and that's on rest mode. Tried it anyway, but still the same problem.
