4K Capturing no longer working properly

Hello everyone, I hope someone can shed some light on my problem. As of the latest dashboard update my 4K game clips no longer work. So yes they were working previously so it's not an issue of having the proper set up. What happens is the clip only record
for like 2 seconds and freezes. Both my cloud and console have been cleared, cache cleared, system fully shutdown and unplugged. Even used another external HDD that's empty and formatted to NTSC with no change. With all that said, if I change it to 1080 there
is no issues what so ever. Anyone else having this problem and if so, have you found a fix.

Xbox has been compressing internet speeds lately due to the pandemic, so quality did go down. I'm uncertain but I think due to the compress 4k video is not technically available.

I'm not sure exactly when 4K recordings stopped working properly because I switched back to 1080P recordings for the longer clip length of 1 or 2 minutes on my Project Scorpio Xbox One X.

The 4K clips may be broken now because they might have made a change in the way that they are captured and/or prepared. Now there is a notification that the clip is being prepared which I don't remember previously (they might have just been captured originally,
this step doesn't happen for 1080P clips). The 4K preparing process may be what is broken in the newer Dashboard releases.

Unfortunately I have not yet seen an updated Dashboard release that fixes the 4K clip issue.

I have the same problem, everything worked before, it was months ago that I capture in 4K and since yesterday impossible to make a capture that works beyond 1080P

I have finished doing the offline update and it sadly didn't help, it still gives the same problem. At this point I'm properly just going to buy a capture card that does 4k and record everything then do edits.

So, yesterday I chatted with MS Support and basically she said that the Xbox One S does not have the capability of "capturing" gameplay in 4K. And that was a feature only possible with the Xbox One X.

So, I left that conversation with the thought that I had made the wrong choice of consoles if that is what I wanted to achieve.

With the Xbox One S, I can only capture as high a resolution in 1080p SDR at 2 minutes max. And yes, I did have a properly formatted external drive connected to the console but this is what I was informed of.

However, I come to find out that I do have the capability of capturing longer than 2 mins when I did so while recording the intro to Star Wars Battlefront ll at a duration of 14 minutes.

So fact-checking MS Support my question is, has anyone captured gameplay in 4K using the Xbox One S?
