4 player split screen extinct?

    I think the big reason people are dropping split screen is because most people play online, which is fine, but I still would like the option.

    Remember when you could go online in splitscreen multiplayer and the second player was named guest? Example: player 1-, player2- (guest)

    You have never been aroud the people on trueachievement. Some of them complaine a achievement on HTMCC required to play a 4 player split screen on blood golth. They wanted it be done online. This is sign that online MP is in and split screen is out. There
    type of job's that rear in today's world. A carhop is one exsample of those rear job's.

    I wonder what percentage of people care about achievements verses those that dont. I dont mind acheivements but I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to get every possible acheivement in a game. But thats a topic for another thread.

    Anyway I'm not saying I want one or the other. I want both like we used to have. A world in which you can only have online multiplayer is not how I would want to raise my children. It would have very negative ramifications on social development in todays
    youth. And besides, not everyone can afford to have multiple consoles and Live subscriptions in their home. Many families still enjoy playing games together. In one room. On one screen. With one console.

    The only way fix that. If you make online gaming illegal. Or make it illegal to not offer split screen. Can't have in the eye of those developer's. Reason I say dead concept. Because people want online game. Make online gaming illegal will bring it back.
    Because by law everyone must play offline. It call demand. If most people want online gaming. That what those developer's will use's and not split screen multiplayer. I have been in a time in gaming that nither where a featuer of a game. As I say. The real
    big way bring it back. To outlaw online gaming.

    Yes I want online gaming. But I want splitscreen as well. Better yet would be able to go online with splitscreen. No reason to make anything illegal. Pardon my saying it but I think that anyone who is for only online multiplayer with absolutely no splitscreen
    support is probably a social outcast with no friends outside of online communities and thats just a sad way to go through life. This is just my general opinion and is in no way aimed at anyone in particular so I hope no one takes offense. But if some are offended
    by this remark then perhaps it rings true to an extent.

    I would be interested to see some sort of poll on this subject but I lack the know how to create a poll or if its even possible on these forums

    Sometime they have no famliy or friend's played with. Because they are into other thing and not into gaming. And sometimes they just don't care to play with them. Or the person live's far away from those people that are into gaming. Life never easy when
    you get older. I got famliy or friends. Almost all them are not into gaming or not into XBOX. My room mate into gaming. But he putty much don't want play with me. Beause it a XBOX. And not a PLAYSTATION. Also one are. Never care play with me either. That why
    online gaming need be outlaw first before bring splitscreen back into gaming. It would force people liking splitscreen gaming.

    I guess I'm in the minority who actually enjoys human interaction. I never much cared about unlocking acheivements. I think I only have something like two games at 100%. Don't get me wrong, I play online as much as anybody, but I still enjoy getting together
    with friends and family to play games. Racing games in particular but I like shooters as well. There is absolutely no reason why we should play games like we are jacked into the Matrix all the time. It's sad if people these days cant socialize without an online
    identity. I guess I'm just old.

    The truth is it dead conceap of gaming featuer. Unlike sidescollers that it comeback as a causal game genra. It as no chance of coming back.

    Bring back something like Ivan Stewarts off road racing or sprint. The screen is static and the cars go round the track. Those games have never supported more than four players so eight players could revive that type of racing game. Or rampage. How many
    monsters could you fit in one city? Or how about a side scrolling shooter like aegis wing? Combining four ships was a blast. Imagine two four ship combos or all eight combine to make a flying fortress. I know these games aren't split screen but would still
    be fun local coop. As far as split screen goes anything more than four players would be too much. But I do wish games supported online split screen like they used to. I remember going online playing split screen in project Gotham or forza (can't remember which)
    and halo as well
