3rd system update for Oct bricked my console Series X

All I can suggest is either get a replacement power brick or buy a old x360 cheaply to get the brick from it. Make sure you get the right power brick for your model.

I bought an old one, didn't check if it had the same power brick as mine (input plugs were different). Search online for 3rd party power brick replacement.

I couldn't be bothered and bought a new gen console.

Shop around I'm pretty sure you'll get a good deal with those that traded their XB1 S/X for a new Series gen S/X.

This is more than likely the power brick has failed. Same thing happened to my x360 and the reason I updated to Xbox one X. Time to update to a new console I suggest.

Either the next gen Series S/X models or XBox one S/X.

You won't look back, but will wonder why you didn't update earlier.

I'm on series X (xbox console) and it is up-to-date - no system or game updates available.

..not sure if you have read anything ive said previously, because i dont seem to understand how sending my xbox in for repair supposed to fix the fact that my console on bricks with halo and no other game? its a halo infinite issue nothing to do with series X. and anyway you think that just b/c it runs fine now its not going to have problems later? lol... im on my 3rd series X atm. 1st one I got was dead on arrival after a day, 2nd one has huge fan problems being loud and hot... and guess what im on my 3rd one and having this issue with a specific game. anyway good luck, hopefully it turns out good for you

Putting console on the floor is not a good idea, especially if the floor is carpeted (static electicity).

I've had recent issues with noise and disc drive not being recognised and the only way I found to stop this issue is to do a Full shutdown of the console and restart.

Settings>System>General>Power...>Full shutdown.

Its worthwhile removing power cable from console for a few minutes after you shutdown before you restart.

Edit (1st Oct 2021)... Disc drive on Xbox Series X is no longer recognised at all. Seems it was dying a slow death. This AU$750.00 console is 6 months old and was bought because I have a game disc collection. It is now a brick until it gets replaced.

Its the second time I've bought new Xbox console (Xbox 1 X and now Xbox Series X) only to have some bit of hardware fail within a very short period of time.

Time for some better Quality Control methinks.
