    360 keeps consuming disks and won't open dsk tray


    ok, before this starts, by consume I meant major laser burn or scratches the disk.

    In my time of 360 all consoles I had/have have ended up with broken disk trays that don't open unless you persuade it with a hard thump on side,

    weirdly this coincides with my fave 360 game, Halo4.

    Once it is in console it fails to open or reckons that disk is unreadable. (even though they are both downloaded [campaign/multiplayer] it still renders them pretty much as nothin more than plastic circles....

    If you need any thurther description then ask...

    anyone know how to fix OPEN TRAY problem every time i put a disc in thankyou

    everytime i put a disk in to play it keeps saying open tray and will not play the disc

    games wont load

    Hi all need some help n advice, every time i load my game disk into the tray the notice open tray appears, i open and close the tray and the message keeps popping up to open the tray. I have cleaned the disk to no avail tried dvd's same result put in a cd
    and it plays fine but not with dvd's or the games. i have a number of game installed onto my hard drive which all play fine. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong wi my xbox 360? URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!!!

    My old Elite console did that... a few light taps on the disc tray and above it used to open it.

    what did this new update do to my xbox, the tray is opening and closing all the time,

    Hey Cyber idk if this will fix your issue follow my steps

    1:turn you console on (dosent matter if ur online or not)

    2:Open you disk tray and keep it open

    3:unplug you power cable from the xbox while the disk tray is still open

    4: while your xbox is off push you disk tray in half way

    5:plug your 360 back in and turn if on by pressing the power button not the controller

    6:it should not open and close uncontrollably :) dont worry ive tried it on mine and it works GL

    From my experience with 360 no beep sound when you open the disk tray to insert or eject disk...

    I had this problem with my Original Xbox 360 as well and I noticed a good bit of dust was causing the disks to be unreadable I fixed it by getting some pressured air and blowing a little bit in there and cleaning off the disk tray.

    As for the disk tray being stuck you can try cleaning the edges of the disk tray when its open as well as the edges of the xbox around where the disk tray is while its open with a dry cloth. ( I did it with a slighty damp one but I have a second Xbox 360
    so I wasn't to worried about being gentle )

    I have a Xbox 360 Slim that I purchased about a year ago. The disk tray open and closes, but it is having a hard time reading any disc. When I turn my console off the disk tray will open. I will try and change wall sockets and unplug and replug my power
