360 game chat not working for Xbox one

Okay so I know that about a couple months ago I was able to talk in game chat on 360 games while on the xbox one. I try to do it now and it doesn't even register that my mic is plugged in and it's been this way for at least a month. I'm not in an xbox
one party, all my voice communication settings are set to allow everything, and my network settings are completely fine (open nat n everything).

CONFIRMED. It's Friday evening for NZ and Australia, I'm on Xbox 360, and the Turtle Beach 500x WORKS ON XBOX 360. Game sound wireless but for chat, you need a chat cable (I'm using the one which I have for my turtle beach x42). Sound and bass is deep. I
have yet to try it on Xbox One. Chat works on Xbox 360 too! I'm chatting with friends in a party on 360.

Forgot to answer the question about the party chat. Party chat does not work between the 360 and One only text messages. If you play a 360 game that has in game voice communications that will work.

As others have said in this thread, Microsoft have confirmed Xbox 360 and ONE users won't be able to chat but can still send messages.

I had the same issue. If you can't switch to 360 game chat from the one try going to your storage and clearing the local 360 game storage. It worked for me finally after searching through every possibility. Must be some bug in the cache or something
