360 compatible games won't connect to Xbox live

Hardware wise, it can't be done to link an xbox one to the 360. However, if the game you want to play is backwards compatible, it could link up to the 360 game in the 360 through Xbox live. Offline and without Xbox live, it won't work.

There is nothing wrong with my connection at all. It's literally just xbox 360 backward compatible games that won't connect. And the game I'm trying to play is a digital download of a 360 game so it definitely works, because it worked for me last year.

Bumping this because I have the same problem. I've played on the 360 before but it won't connect to live through the the backwards compatibility. I deleted my profile and tried to redownload but it just says it can't connect to live.

Please, delete your profile and re-download it:

Press start+select to open Xbox 360 menu.

Go to Manage Storage > Profiles > Delete your Profile (Keep the Data).

Press Start+Back one more time.

Download your Profile.

Then, close the game and Powe Cycle your console.

Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

That game is not backwards compatible so it won't work on the 360. I'm not sure about the connection issues though.
