    I just got my Xbox Series X today and excited to use it. I set it up and I see that the Xbox says my monitor doesn't support 120hz. I bought the monitor so it would run at 1440p @ 144hz, can anyone help me out? Am I supposed to change a certain setting on my monitor? Am I supposed to do something on my Xbox?

    It supports 1440p @144hz over DP 1.2 from my pc, and I've gotten 1440p @ ~100hz over HDMI without FreeSync enabled on my X1X.

    That doesn't work either. But another question: does Microsoft know about this problem, and are they on it? Or is it just an unfixable problem? I saw the first comment talking about the VESA standard, but I don't know how it won't work with Freesync on.

    Have you tried turning off freesync (vrr) on the console? I did see one mention online that this monitor might only support up to100hz refresh rate over HDMI with freesync enabled.

    You sure it supports 4k 120hz with vvr and free sync ? Or even 1440p with vvr and freesync over hdmi they typically only do so over dvi or displayport

    Or worse they support 119.99 and say 120 Hz when it's not 120hz vesa

    Not all do

    You can reference the made for.xbox or ps5 monitors also they come with settings specifically for consoles
