I believe each of these is related to an Age of Empires install from what I can find online. I have uninstalled the game(s) and these are taking up a ridiculous amount of storage. Can someone please assist in removing these.

327 GB of storage space is being taken up by MSIXVC, Microsoft.Cardinal and three instances of Microsoft.MSGPBoston. How can I remove these and free up space?

    Dear Recon92c812ca81-47a6-42a5-84ae-f7362239fed6

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that after you downloaded Age of Empires from the internet and uninstalled it, there are a large number of files remaining in your Windows App folder. In order to better help you solve the problem, I first need to determine with you, through what channel did you download Age of Empires? This relates to where the game's files should be stored.

The MSIXVC folder is typically the folder on a Windows system used to store and manage MSIX applications, an application packaging and deployment format used to install and run applications on Windows 10 and later. This folder contains the installation packages and some resource files for all the games you have downloaded. This folder is not recommended for deletion, and deletion may risk the Microsoft Store and Xbox no longer functioning.

Microsoft.Cardinal and three instances of Microsoft.MSGPBoston seem to be related to an Age of Empires game. The folder in the Windows App has high permissions and you cannot delete it directly. You can add permissions by removing the files in question from the C drive > WindowsApps. However, please note that since system files are related to each other, it is risky to delete these two files, so please be careful. (If you don't find this folder, tick "View hidden items" in the menu bar "View")

Locate the WindowsApps folder, right-click on it and find Properties.[IMG]Click the Security tab, and then click Advanced.[IMG]Under the Permissions tab, select Continue. Where it says "Unable to show current owner", click Change. Click Advanced.[IMG][IMG]Click Advanced.[IMG]Select Find Now, scroll down and locate your user account.[IMG]Click it and select OK.[IMG]Clicking Apply will change the ownership of the WindowsApps folder and once the change is complete, you can try to access the folder to delete the files in question.

Hope it helps! If any update, welcome to share with us.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

    Hi

Glad to hear from you, is your current account a Windows account with administrator privileges? You can confirm whether your current account is an administrator user or a standard user in Settings > Account.

If your current account follows the actions in my first reply, you can change the owner of the Windows apps folder, so that your current Windows account has full permissions.

You can check whether the owner of the current folder is your current Windows account in the screenshot.

How to kill mixer on my xbox

You cant mixer is part of the Home Experience. It takes up no more space than it did before mixer was added. This is installed to the reserved partition space all your OS is saved too. For instance if you have a 500GB console 120-140GB of that storage
device is already reserved and taken for OS and updates

Missing Storage on my Series S / Over 100GB

    Hello!

I'm a Independent Advisor. I will be glad to help you.

Are you considering the space taken up by apps like YT, Netflix, Rewards, etc?

Also consider that saved game data can take up MB/GB of storage.

If you have screenshots and clips saved locally on your console, they could also take up quite a bit of storage space.

All of this should add up to approximately 360-364 GB.

I hope the information has been clear, I will be attentive to any questions you may have.

    Best Regards.
