3 Xbox consoles how to make it work

Thanks in advance for the help. I am new to all of this so please bare with me. My kids got 2 xboxs (x & s) for christmas. I signed up for an xbox live membership and all was well until i wanted my own console. I ended up getting another xbox x. From what i have read i know i need another live account for the 3rd console. Now this is where i am having trouble. When i got the 3rd console i linked it to my account which already has the 2 original consoles. So i have no idea how to setup another live membership and if i do, can i take my gammertag and move it to the new account and 3rd console? If so what happens to the original account with me as the (owner) do i need to make one of my kids profiles as the owner? As i said i am new and racking my brain trying to figure this out. I don’t want to remove or delete any gamertags from consoles for fear of having to start all over. As i said i am new and any help is appreciated. If it is detailed that would be awesome, due to my lack of knowledge.

You would either just purchase a Live subscription on one of your kid's accounts or create a new account and purchase Live on that account. Then have that account set one of the console's as its Home console to share the subscription. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox

You would set another console as your Home in order to share your subscription on that console and then you can continue to sign in and use the third console.

As long as you remember log-in information, you can remove accounts from consoles without losing anything.

Yes, you can sign into your account on any console you want. Since you bought Live on your account, it's tied to your account so you can sign in and use it anywhere. Even without Live, you can sign into your account and use your account on any console. So yes, if you wanted to go to a friend's house, you could sign in on your account to play there (you would just want to make sure you sign out before leaving).

Ok, thank you fo the detailed response. What is the best way to setup the second live memebership? On the console? I believe i was prompted to setup a live account when i did inital setup.

Also are you saying as long as i remember login that i could techically sign into my account from any xbox, it does not have to be on my live account? Ex: i could go to a friends house and log into my account on his console?

Awesome. My plan is to create an xbox live account under daughter and and make my “sons” xbox home on that account. That way she can stay signed in on “her” xbox and son would not have to do anything to use his Would i be able to have all 3 gamertags his/hers/mine on all 3 consoles and just have to sign in when prompted if we all wanted to play a multiplayer game?

Well, get this....I got to it but completely roundabout way. I found my game buried in the Achievements window in the old Xbox Console app.

1. Click on Achievements.

2. Click the game in the list of Achievements.

3. Then click Info.

4. Then can select Play from Console if Xbox is turned on.

How ridiculous. The Beta app doesn't work and is inferior to the Console app anyway so I'm just going to use the Console app until they retire it. Hopefully, they figure out how to make the Beta app work.
