3, 12 month gold cards

So a thing happened, and I ended up with 3, Xbox 12 month gold cards. So...question. Seeing as how none can be returned and one of them came all the way from Ireland, is there any way I can save them, or perhaps redeem them now, and not have to renew again
until the 36 months are up? Any suggestions would be amazing

Yes it does not include a gold card but the day one 12 month gold card is separate.

You can stack up to 36 months of xbox live subscriptions.

Cards/subs are region locked so depending on where you are the card from Ireland may not work.

Gold subs are now region locked? When did that happen? Sent a subs to friends abroad a few years back and they could redeem them with no problem.

Sorry Badger but you are wrong this time. Gold is still region free.

I had it confirmed by @xboxsupport before I bought two twelve month subs as a gift for friends in the USA and they redeemed them successfully.

Gift cards are region free but xbox live codes aren't.

Taken from the official support pages:

Something went wrong. Sorry about that. Give it a try in a while

If there are any issues with the Xbox Live service, try to redeem the prepaid code later.

If there are no problems with the Xbox Live service, check the following:

•The region for the code matches the region for your Xbox Live account. If you need to change your region, see Change your Xbox Live country/region in your billing information.

•The billing information for your Xbox Live account is correct.

•The region in your Xbox Live billing information matches the country where you currently live.

•There's not an outstanding balance on your Xbox Live payment option.

If you need to change the region for your Xbox Live account, go to account.xbox.com and then click Change my region.

Gold is region free. It is gift cards (currency) that is not. Been that way for years.

The section you highlight obviously refers to points /currency cards.

Go up the chain to a staff member if you don't believe me or @xboxsupport

Have a browse of the support forums & you'll find this verified by official support staff,not the ones on twitter.

Sorry but I bought Gold in the UK and it was redeemed in the USA. Either they are wrong or the system has been broken for years.

Which do you think is more likely?

You can purchase 5 years of Live Gold membership on 5 12 month cards and activate each one as each year expires. Or you can activate 3 12 month cards and have a total of 36 months of maximum subscription and then activate the 2 12 month cards.

Was the code for a full gold subscription (1 month, 3 month, or 12 months)? Or was it a gold trial? Trial cards will allow you to play online, but won't change your account to gold.

I had 17 days left of game pass ultimate I decided to buy a 12 month Xbox live Gold card and a 3-month game pass ultimate card put in the 12 months first then the 3 months game pass ultimate card so that the 12 months would convert to game pass ultimate as well. Instead it only gave me 8 months game pass ultimate total as stated above.

You could always go to your local shop and purchase a 12-month, 3- month, or 1-month Gold card to give as a gift.

Another reason to purchase 3 month/12 month gold cards. Don't use a Credit Card. Someone is just waiting around the corner to hack/steal your info......
