    2Wire (Modems/Gateways): Hey cortana: record that
    Ever since the new ui update, whenever I record a clip, a big dialogue box pops up and doesn't allow me to interact with my game (diablo 3 in this case), until it is done recording. Before the update, it would record while I played. I don't see any setting
    to change it to go back to the way it was before.

    Try the following things please:

    If you have Cortana set up - "Hey Cortana, Record that" or "Hey Cortana, take a screenshot" (can be used with Kinect or a headset)

    If you use Xbox commands - "Xbox Record That" or "Xbox take a screenshot" (used with Kinect only)

    Press the Guide button on your controller and select X or Y to take a screenshot or recording

    Cortana sucks

    1. Preview members should post preview problems to preview forums.

    2. Cortana does not suck.

    3. Cortana is actually pretty accurate. Works for me 95% times. But different accents may get different results, so try to select right language options.

    4. To record game clips you need to say "Hey Cortana, record that". Previously it was "Xbox, record that". Not "resume" or "play".

    5. Also, if you do not like Cortana, You can always switch it off and use Kinect voice commands instead.

    6. But I agree with you that they should let us use our own word to activate commands. Or just let us choose between 3 different start commands "Xbox", "Cortana", "Hey Cortana".

    Elite contoller shortcut

    Hi

    I don't think it's possible to do this on the elite controller please be aware the dashboard update that will be releasing soon makes recording game clips much faster, also if you plug a chat headset into the controller and activate Cortana the voice command
    of "Hey Cortana record that" will also work.

    Cortana has killed my XBOX experience

    I agree. I cane here to say the same thing. Why move from the simple system of saying "XBOX blah blah" with instant results to "hey cortana" with rediculous lag. I used to use the "xbox record that" command all the time. Now trying to get Cortana to record
    is slow and pretty much useless.
