    2FA is not working properly


    TLDR is that i recently added 2FA to my account which prevents me from playing games through Xbox lots of the time i start my pc.

    Now i turned of 2FA and deleted the auto generating codes from my phone.

    I wanted to turn it back on but it didnt give me a new QR code for a new entry in an authentication app. How do i get a new QR code, because for now, i cant turn on 2FA safely because i dont have any code in an authenticator app (i do have a back up code for the entire account if it is really needed)

    Entirety of my previous support ticket:

    After adding 2FA to my account i have to log back into my standard devices every time. It automaticly logs me out every time i shut off my pc

    If your console doesn't power up at all try unplugging it from the wall for 3 whole minutes so the power supply resets (if you have the original Xbox One model wait until the light on the power supply goes off). Then plug it back and see if it

    Sorry about that, but no worries.



    Recently I added 2FA to my microsoft account and I changed my password so my account is better protected. Since then I have had multiple cases where I open the minecraft launcher and my account is logged out. I have to log back in every time but I don't have to put in any account information. I just click continue a few times and I'm back in my account. This alone is a bit frustrating since it randomly happens a few times throughout the day. While I'm logging back into my account I don't get the option to click 'stay logged in on this device'.



    After this I am able to acces all of my account within the minecraft launcher but if I open minecraft: bedrock edition I'm logged out of my account in game, even though I am logged into my account on the launcher after the log-in prompt mentioned above. Whenever I try to log in though it is unable to log me into my account on minecraft: bedrock edition which makes me unable to join the realms I am in, since you have to be logged in to your account to acces them. After multiple failed attempts of logging me in it gives me an error code if I remember correctly. I don't have this error code though since I am unable to recreate this at will since it happens randomly. Restarting Minecraft: Bedrock Edition doesn't fix this either and the only fix I have been able to find to get me back into my account on minecraft bedrock edition is a full PC restart.



    The subject may not reflect what is in this issue but I didn't know what type of issue this was, I also couldn't find any fixes online so far.

    Now is this happening on a desktop or laptop. since we could have a fix which related to relogging in to the account on the PC/ Profile on the PC (NOT the Xbox app, the PC itself)

    Ok and tell me which of the following is shown



    "Switch to a local account instead"



    "Stop signing in to Microsoft Apps automatically"



    it says "sign in with a local account instead"

    There is no button that says verify in a yellow banner at all

    If not then we have to try to either double check the method of two step authentication used and then sign out with that texted you confirmed to me akal sign in with local account instead then do the reset abd removal of xbox and gaming services,

    Sorry you're going through this. I noticed you're having trouble accessing Minecraft launcher. Is this also happening to Xbox app or just the Minecraft launcher?



    Im not sure of the xbox app specificly, but the overlay with the performance, social, etc doesnt load in properly most of the time if it needs connection to a server. For example my social tab is almost never able to load in and when i click 'reload' (or something similar to that) it still can't load my friends list.

    I suggest that you check for the network type in your internet settings. May I ask, are you using Windows 10 or 11?

    Now since the yellow banner did not appear, it means the PC is linked to the account properly since then the authentication does seem to be linked correctly as well.



    BUT as for the network type, we need to use the Xbox Console companion app or we go to Windows Start > Settings > Gaming > Xbox Network

    Hi Serge, how was your network type?



    "BUT as for the network type, we need to use the Xbox Console companion app or we go to Windows Start > Settings > Gaming > Xbox Network" the 'xbox network' setting is not there for me. I tried to find it in the xbox app as well but wasn't able to find it for now. The xbox app also currently shows a yellow banner on the top of the screen that says: "We couldnt sign you into your microsoft account - There seems to be a problem with your store account"



    When i click fix now it sends me to a window that says: "confirm the account you use for purchases - A recent change in your machine requires you to log into your microsoft store account again" but when i click continue nothing happens. I have had this specific window before and when i clicked continue then i was sent to a log in screen where i had to relog again and it fixed the problem untill the next time my PC gets powered off











    Have you tried these steps: To ensure that your PC remembers your login information for Minecraft even after turning it off, follow these steps: Windows 11 or Windows 10:



    Open Settings by pressing the Windows key and clicking the settings cog in the bottom left.

    Click on Accounts.

    Under Sign-in options, change the drop-down under Require sign-in to either Never or When PC wakes up from sleep.

    Launch Edge.

    Click the three dots menu icon in the upper right corner and access Settings.

    Click on Passwords

    Check the options: Offer to save passwords and Sign in automatically.

    Its whenever I try 2fa it says the same thing over and over again .

    I know this is normal but its saying that it sent a email to the gmail account associated with your epic.

    When it says that I don't know what gmail account that is.

    I tried my xbox account because that is the one i'm using for my epic and its not working.

    From what I can gather it seems like the 2fa are conflicting with each other and the result is that neither aren't working very well. One possible solution might be to unlink your microsoft account from your epic games account, but before you do that take

    Turn off 2FA, re-enter the email to download the account, then if the password screen shows up, turn the 2FA back on and put in the app password that it generates. Worked for me
