2FA Bug in Microsoft Products - MSFS

Hi Everyone,

ive recently encountered this extreamly annoying bug and its driving me near insane. I am useing 2FA whenever i can. I also do so on my Microsoft account [Microsoft Authenticator] (and i suppose on my "xbox" account as well since these are merged). And whenever i start a microsoft game for the First time... its asking me to Authenticate. Up until now everything regarding that worked fine. However since a recent update (Update / no fresh install) of both my OS and MSFS i get this annoying message to Re-Authenticate myself again. ((Little sidenote: i am useing the SteamVersion of MSFS and Latest updates))

... However the button to send the code (or anything at all) cannot be Clicked... (Mouse, Controller, Flightstick, Keyboard, etc all do not respond to the button... funnyly enogh you can mark the text with your mouse however. The game is still running. It dose not Crash)

Furthermore the game is Stuck in this section of the loading Screen (Probably since it wants me to Authenticate / Still dosnt crash).

I tryed the usual troubleshootings (Log On/Off with MS account, Start other MS games, Reinstall game, Reinstall drivers for USB devices, Reinstall Steam) and the "reset game to Vanilla state" as instructed by MSFS support have not helped and im getting really frustrated. The latest update for the game (that was like a few days ago) also didnt do anything. Therefore hopeing to find help here and that i am not the only one with this odd bug ?
...or if its just time to reinstall Windows fresh again :/ (Havent done this yet but would prefer not to)

I personally never experienced this issue, I also have enabled Microsoft Authenticator in my account.

I'm thinking couple options worth trying it:

1. Try disabling temporarily the send sign in notification from advance security tab and test how it goes on the game:

2. Set all Xbox Live services as automatic:

Press Windows button and type Services

On Services App from the list of results, press right-click and run it as administrator

Scroll to the bottom and find the following services:

IP Helper

Xbox Live Auth Manager

Xbox Live Game Save

Xbox Live Networking Service

Gaming Services

And do this with each of the services listed above:

Right-click over the service and select Properties.

Find the Startup type section and make sure it’s set to Automatic (if not, change it to automatic)

If the service isn’t started, click Start to start the services

Restart your PC

3. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts

Hello, MSFS will be tied to your Microsoft account so you should not need a code as long as you use the same Microsoft account to reinstall MSFS

Thanks for your reply Hargy2305, I started with Microsoft Flight Simulator v.1 back in November 1982 and have had every version since (yep, I'm an old dude). Got my Private Pilot License in 1986 and when I wasn't actually flying, I was using MSFS. The
current version is absolutely awesome (if people can get it to load) and I haven't had any issues once it installed--so far.

I never really liked X-Plane for many reasons like very limited distant vision (hazy--of course it was that way to preserve frame rates), ATC, etc. But MSFS relied heavily on Windows 7 and I held out as long as I could before basically forced to upgrade
to Windows 10. Also MSFS relied on 3rd party apps to function somewhat properly like FSUIPC and others. I finally had enough of the Crash-To-Desktop issues and frequent rebooting so reluctantly I switched to X-Plane, which was much better than MSFS but nowhere
near what it should have been. If they can get the bugs out of FS2020 (which I am sure they will) it will be as close to real flying as you can get without spending the price of a new home for a simulator.

I really appreciate the Microsoft team getting FS2020 out as soon as they did--it was a monumental task to say the least as they were being pressured by simmers constantly. I wasn't expecting the release until at least the end of this year or sometime next
year.

I still have memories of MSFS v.1, and am amazed at the progress they have made--and at such a low cost.

Everybody just hang in there, the bugs will be fixed and we can all enjoy this fantastic product.
