2 Xbox's - same game pass, please help,x

I bought 2 xbox's "series s"

One for my son "at his mum's house"

And one for me "at my house"

Both are signed into my ultimate game pass account,

When I start a game it says "already on another device" and stops him minecrafting lol

Sorry but 2 questions,

1 - can only one of us play at the same time, ?

2 - if i need to purchase another game pass account so we both can play at same time, does that mean one of us will lose our progress by changing accounts, ?

Yes and no

Yes you can use a second profile but it wouldn't be practical because you would have to designate your xbox as his home console and he would use your profile online at all times to use your content and subsxription

And it is never recommended to allow a child on an uncontrolled account

You can buy another subscription but any purchased content can't be sharws

Well you are going ti run into this problem.

You can only be signed in on ine location at a time

It would be a major security risk and hole for anything else

You can however set your sons xbox as home xbox so he can access the games but no perks or ea play or cloud gaming

However your game saves is locked to your account so yes he would have to start over

He would need his own profile and since he has your home console you would have to be signed in online at all times to access your content

So, if I'm understanding you correctly,

The problem is that the same profile is signed in on 2 locations at same time ?

my main priority is keeping my son's progress "he plays multiple games"

I'm a part time gamer, only occasionally halo and forza,

So I don't mind losing progress and starting over,

Is there a way he keeps my profile and we can both game at same time,

Or should I just pay for another game pass ?

Hi my son had a Xbox one with a gold pass and upgraded to a xbox x with 2 years ultimate. When I setup his xbox x with his same account his gametag had ultimate subscription the rest of his gold pass was put on my gametag on the xbox x. But when he signs in some days his gametag changes to gold pass and my gametag has ultimate which stop him downloading gamepass games to his gametag. ...
