2 weeks of corrupted captures or just not recording!

I think its laughable at this point that this hasn't been a tab in the main support pages and i can only find people talking about it on this forum. Seeing as i was permanently banned from the xboxone subreddit for talking about it and have not gotten a
response after multiple messages to mods to reverse but oh well.

So every time i take a capture it eother doesn't record at all or records 22 of the 30 seconds i have it set to capture BUT it actually only captures 1 second and a frozen screen for the next 21 seconds.

No a hard reset as suggested by xbox support doesn't work at all, have tried multiple times. The screen shots now take but the recording videos is a big problem. Especially for those who use thier clips as content on social media. And been stonewalled by
this corrupted recording system...

Can we please get this fixed and addressed to the community?

Also as a piggy back, the upload studio app that comes with xbox as far as i can remember is broken and has been broken for a long time. Trimming clips distorts the sound and breaks the recording. Sometimes just freezing the clip and only playing sound or
just a black screen and all together dropping quality of the clips.

Same problem here.

Two different Xbox, different USB 3.1 sticks and same result.

4k capture are corrupted after 2 sec.

The funny part is this was working really well before they updated the way we capture gameplay.

Xbox One S by default captures 1080p with a max of 2 minutes.

Go to preferences > Broadcast & Capture

Under capture select Game clip resolution and choose 720p SDR. This will allow you to record 5 minutes. Be warned, the quality of video recordings will drop.

If you use an external drive as the capture location, you can record footage at 1080p that's way longer than 1 minute, but it has 2 important limitations.

1. You have to start and stop the recording manually. You can't use the "record that" feature to capture longer clips of something that just happened; that would still be limited to 1 minute at 1080p.

2. Clips captured on external storage cannot be shared over Xbox Live.

I think it's a good solution if you're recording footage to transfer over to a PC, edit, then upload to YouTube, but it's no good if you want to capture longer clips to share with friends over Xbox Live.

I wonder why they reduced the recording times though. I'm sure when I got my Xbox Series X, there was a 2 minute option for 1080p, but now, as you said, it's only 1 minute.

Before the problem will be solved you can upload your clips on external harddrive connected through usb, if you have some..

I... did... what.. did you read the post? How can i even download them to an external when i can't even have them properly recorded in the first place?
