    Hello,

    I'm currently trying to reset my password. I have 2 step authentication enabled but no longer have access to my old phone number. I'm having trouble finding where I need to go to provide information to gain access to my account and update the number. Can anyone tell me my options?

    Based on your description, you are trying to reset your account's password. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

    According to this support article: How to use two-step verification with your Microsoft account, two-step verification for your Microsoft account means you ideally can add three pieces of security info to access it back just in case you forgot the password. So, to answer your question, you can access your account back with only one option - verify your identity with the help of your security information. That option will depend on how many security information you have added in your account.

    contact Customer Support for more assistance with the Microsoft Account. The error
    may be happening due to the cancellation of the previous request.

    Thank you! That is one of the issue i am having. I cant seem to get that 30 day period restarted. I get a message saying:

    "we're not ready for you yet, your account is unable to complete the request"

    If it was just a matter of waiting it wouldnt be an issue.

    Just reset the password through the secondary email you have provided. If you can't no one can help you with sensible info.

    Thanks for the reply and update on the issue with the 2-step verification on the Microsoft Account. I recommend reviewing the following articles: How
    to use two-step verification with your Microsoft account     and When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account.

    • If you lose your contact method, your password alone won't get you back into your account and it can take you 30 days to regain access. You may even lose access to the account. For that reason,
      we strongly recommend you have three pieces of security info associated with your account, just in case.

    Give this a try and let us know the results.
