2 different Xbox Ones with the same controller connectivity issues.

Just to confirm, what’s the exact model of the controllers? This info is displayed in the battery compartment. There are four models - 1537, 1697, 1708 and 1914. It’s most likely 1708 as that was the one released with the Xbox One S.

Are you an Xbox Insider and what OS version are you currently on? You can find this info in Settings > System > Console info.

Network connectivity wouldn’t make a difference to controller stability as it uses Bluetooth and not internet to connect to the console. So even if you were to play offline with no connection to Xbox Live, this shouldn’t affect the controller in any way. The wireless range (typically a few metres) and interference can still be a possible factor, though.

If you and your girlfriend have tried everything in the following guide, then it would be best to wait until this is resolved in an update/patch.

Regardless of the above, please report the problem after reconnecting so this can be properly addressed. You may add [Xbox Forums] to the title of the report, then share this here once complete.

Also, you may want to use the controllers on a direct wired connection with a compatible USB cable if possible as a temporary workaround to consider. The random, unexpected disconnects don’t occur this way.

I would like to clarify, does any of your two have your 5G mobile data turned on? If yes, would it be okay if you try to turn it off while playing and then check if the same issue will occur?

Also, if that didn't work, resetting the console and keeping your games and apps will be the last resort. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, and games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

Hey I wanted to let everyone know an update with my controller. So I had the same issue and found a different thread somewhere else where someone mentioned connecting the controller to an xbox prompted the controller for an update. So I had to dig out my xbox one and sure enough connected the controller via USB and it prompted for an update, and now my Elite Series 2 Controller is once again working properly on my PC.

Thanks, JUST DO IT145, what points to the controllers, is that they have the same mic issue when tried with my other son's xbox 1S. It is weird, I admit, to have the same issue with three different controllers! When my other son tried his controller with
the headset on the xbox one it worked, which makes it seem that the headset isn't the issue. I find it hard to accept that there would be the same physical fault with three different controllers, one of which has just been purchased, which makes me think that
the xbox one is somehow affecting the controllers connection to headset after some use.

There are just few possibilities for this

1.- The headset has issues ( you discard this by testing different ones)

2.- controller jack issues ( you discard this by trying different controllers)

3.- privacy issues ( you discard this by checking the settings on the provided link)

4.- enforcement action active on the account ( you won't be able to connect to Xbox party)
