2 controllers operating simultaneously

XBox newbie here.

Set up new console with 2 controllers, 1 parent account and 2 children's accounts. Not sure the controllers are synced correctly because when 1 child is signed in, both controllers can operate the game being played.

How do I make sure each controller is linked to their respective accounts or reset them accordingly?

Have you verified that Copilot isn't activated with the controllers? Do they operate simultaneously at the dashboard? Here is the Copilot support page https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/accessibility/copilot

Had you try to press & hold the button that is above your controller. Just above the "X"
symbol & right next to the opening that you charge your controller?

What game are you trying to play? Most games pop up the user profiles and you select what profile to use for the controller selecting it.

It will work with the following: -

Up to 8 wireless controllers simultaneously without headsets
Up to 4 wireless controllers simultaneously with mono single ear headsets
Up to 2 wireless controllers simultaneously with stereo headsets

As it uses Xbox Wireless (the same wireless protocol that Xbox consoles use), you get more functionality than you would get if you were using Bluetooth. It also supports all official accessories, such as the Chatpad.

With Bluetooth, MS recommend you only use 1 controller at a time and accessories are not supported.

First of all the game must allow 4 simultaneous players, second, you must synchronize the controls both the console and the controls have buttons to do this and finally must have at least 2 user profiles for 2 to be invited from those profiles example
control1, control1(guest) control2, control 2(guest)
