2 controllers fighting eachother

I have 2 controllers I'm trying to connect to 1 Xbox for a couch co-op game. Both controllers show they are updated when they aren't plugged in to the Xbox (but when i plug any one of them in at a time they show that they are updated. I update them, 100%, then they go bsck to the screen saying they require the update. After many resets of both xbox and xbox controllers, i still have the same issue) via USB to type C;however, I turn one on(this controller will be called controller A), it connects fine. Then I connect the other one(controller B), here's where the problem starts happening. I touch Controller A after controller B is on. Controller A starts to blink immediately, disconnecting and then turning off. During that, controller B fully connects. The X is not blinking until controller A is touched. Controller B starts to blink as does A. Both fighting for a connection. And then turning off. I play on an Xbox series S and both controllers are in fine condition, controller B is usually on a OG Xbox. No 360, no series. I've checked countless videos on YouTube, tiktok, I've tried everything in the book at the Microsoft help, I've turned on co-pilot, I've turned it off, I've tried to connect both using USB-C connected to the Xbox. I just want to do couch co op but the controllers fight? Why can't I use both? That's all I want to know. And I can't seem to look it up at all and would greatly appreciate some help. This won't be my first time reporting. I will communicate everything I can to get this fixed. Please help
