2 consoles 1 game

hi, i am thinking of getting a xbox 360 for myself , my son already has one... he has gold... n im a bit confused as to whether he can use my games i buy n use on his console surely that is copy right n if he downloads n plays on his wont i lose
any saved games on mine... he is on about the fact we wud only need one game and both can play as we both in same house/?? i am totally clueless an i have no idea on how that works n i dont want to lose my gamertag cos of doing something im not happy wiv

I have 2 xbox ones. One upstairs and one downstairs.

I have my family coming over for xmas and want to play the same game with them.

I haven't bought it yet but i want to buy a digital download and play the same game with them. Dead Rising 3 online co-op or would i need to buy 2 copies?

No you wouldnt. Set the downstairs console as your home console(Go to settings and scroll to the bottom to set your Home console) and download the game using the profile you posted with. Now anyone using that console will have access to the game. Now all
you have to do is download your profile and Dead Rising 3 to the upstairs console and you guys can play together.

 

Not sure if youre talking digital download or physical disc.

 

Hiya jpep i am under the impression its discs... he says oh wen u get xbox i can use ur games im totally clueless all help appreciated wont have my 11 yr old get one over me .. long story ...

 

Ok I think I know where your confusion lies. Yes you can install a game disc onto the consoles harddrive however the disc needs to be in the machine to start playing. The install feature was added a few years ago to help prevent wear and tear on the console
by having the disc continually spinning in the drive. Also it will run quieter. If you want to play together on seperate systems you will need two copies of the game. If youre just talking about sharing a game the same disc can be installed and playable on
either console, but to play together you would both play on the same console. If you are talking about downloaded live arcade games you may be able to transfer from one system to the other with a memory card or usb flashdrive. Again this would equate to borrowing.
To play together seperately (oxymoron), you would need two copies of the same game.

 

Ah ok ty ... so basically for example...i want to get watchdogs... i want to play it on my account on my xbox ..my son says .. oh good i can play it to now on mine u dont need to buy me one now ... ?? Wud i lose my place in game if he used it on his account
his console?? Sorry for acting so dumb .. im a xbox virgin ..lol ..my son n bf has got me into the xbox so once i get one nxt month .. i b playing watchings skyrim n assasins creed ... i dont have many friends would u mind if i added u as a friend im not
on xbox yet but soon will b and looking fir more online friends to help me along wiv my xbox fix lol all help is appreiciated

 

No you dont have to worry about losing your save data as it is stored on your consoles harddrive not the game disc. I have XB1 now but still go on the 360 so sure you can add me.
