2.0 usb cant move files anymore.

I need to move a couple files onto my minecraft world and my xbox is refusing to see my 2.0 usb as anything other than a media storage device. I don't understand why this is happening considering ive done it before with a different 2.0 usb. I've tried formatting it in both NTFS and Exfat but neither changed anything.

I'm on an Xbox one and I am using my computer to move .mcaddon files to my USB drive. I'm pretty sure the old usb I used was a 2.0 so is this a new feature or something? Do I just need to have a 3.0 USB drive or something. I've done a fair amount of research about this and it says I need something like 200 something gbs minimum on said USB but my old USB met neither of those requirements and worked fine. (2.0 16gb)

That's because you needed a usb 3.0 not a 2.0 as they are too slow

Unless you are using a xbox 360 you need to use ntfs not.exfat

360 only supports fat 32

And if you using a computer to add files.thats the issue

You cannot change.anything on an xbox drive as the security layers won't allow you to access the xbox format as they are encrypted

That's why you are seeing the media portion because you are adding files and I'm guessing not accepting xbox to formatted drive to use for gaming?

The only way to add mods is realms on xbox

You can only use custom .folders on pc

XBOX 360:

Go to system settings, storage, and make sure your USB (2.0 or up) is plugged in, and converted, if it isn't converted, do you have to do so. When the USB is converted to a XBOX 360 storage device, (WARNING! This will delet any files that is alredy on the
USB) can you go onto for example your harddrive, and click on mostly any files, and you should be able to ether move, copy or delete the file. Select copy and select the USB you are using, and done. If you want to remove it from the XBOX 360, but keep it on
USB, do you select move instead of copy.

XBOX ONE:

Sorry, but I don't know that one... All I know is that it will require a USB 3.0 (or up) to convert it into a XBOX ONE storage device.

You shouldn't have any problems, if it is 1.0 or 2.0 usb it will be recognized as your HDD for media files, if its 3.0 usb and want to use just for media files music/video/pictures just don't format it with your console.

The mediaplayer which will support external USB devices is coming with the September update to Xbox One. It will support external USB 2.0 devices with audio and movie files.
