18 Y.O Child Account

The length you have to go to, to change a child account from an adult account is very tedious and confusing. Not only am I an adult over the age of 18, but my account seems to stay on child settings which is extremely annoying. The original adult member
of the "Xbox Live Family" I'm in, [The Account] is no longer in service. How on earth am I supposed to change my privacy settings. I have tried multiple times leaving the family and so on but no luck.

And, just to be utterly concrete here, it's AOK to have your 18+ y.o. sons in the Family Pack, contrary to prior suggestion.

No changing the account age or.email.will.change when that happens

If thenoriginal.birthdate has passed then it's simple reassociate your account to another parental account then remove it

If the 18th birthdate not the year has passEd it won't ask for another parental account then

Yes you have to have a parental account to sign in and reassociate the account first

If the age of her account is 18, you can promote her account to an adult account -

support.xbox.com/.../promote-child-account

If she's under 18, the account will still be a child account.

Temhotabot

Microsoft has set the age to 18 years on a child account. Once your account age turns 18 you can then promote it from a child account to an adult account. There is no fix or workaround for this.

To check, has the child account you're trying to remove reached the age of 18? If it's still a child account you'll need to keep an adult account tied to it until the account age reaches 18.
