Discus and support 1440p Capture problems, cant change resolution settings for clips to match output. in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I play on 1440p and my game captures are only at 1080p and constantly freeze anytime I clip something.     I play on 1440p and my game captures are only at 1080p and constantly freeze anytime I clip something. Not sure what I can do, I've already done a reset on it and it didn't change anything.

    Setting my screen resolution to 1080p worked, not the capture resolution.

    The issue seems to lie specifically with 1440p output resolution.

    I was somehow able to fix the lag by setting my refresh rate to 120hz (vs 60) and keeping my display resolution at 1440p and the capture resolution at 1080p. Not sure how but my clips have been perfect since!!

    I'm having the same issue on my Xbox series X. I have a 1440p 75hz monitor and my output is 1440p, even with the output and monitor set to 1080p I still have the issue. I have tested this with and without freesynch (On my monitor) turned on, as well as variable frame rate setting on the series X.

    The strange thing is when I was playing the Halo Infinite flight recently, nearly all of my clips had NO lag spikes or stutters, there was 1 clip that had an issue (I had made at least 15 captures).

    I also say I would rather play my games smooth at 1440p and FPS as high as possible, rather than lowering the settings just to have smooth captures... But it would be nice if this issue could be resolved.

    Any thoughts?
    Looks like right now the only way is to set it to 1080p and have smooth captures, or to play 1440p and have stutter. Sucks, but that's the way it is until they fix it.

    Have you tried changing the picture setting and resolution settings on both your tv and xbox too match a different output mode?
