    Hi

    I have an issue where, I can not select 1440p @ 120hz, my Xbox tells me it is not supported and goes back to 1080p.

    If I select Video Fidelity HDMI - the Xbox does not find my free sync and will display the error above when trying to select 1440p @ 120hz.

    If I select Video Fidelity auto Detect - the Xbox find free sync and allows me to play at 1440p @ 60hz, but the 120hz is not available.

    I have checked the manual for my monitor, I know it runs 1440P @120hz with free sync from HDMI 2.0, is this a bug or am I missing something?

    Error on xb1x selecting 4k

    The Xbox One X supports 120hz only at 1440p and 1080p resolutions. It does not support 120hz at 4k. So unless your TV or monitor supports 1440p resolution (many don't), you will only get 1080p when selecting 120hz.

    Becoyse what i know is that on samsung c32hg70 it is possible to set framerate on 120hz - so , we can play 1440p/120hz with freesync on

    This article clearly states Xbox add 120Hz for 2K or 1440p, but why is it that I cannot get it to enable on my AOC AGON HDR 32in monitor?

    Im going to buy an AOC Agon AG322QC4 , but need to know if will be possible to use freesync 2 or 1440p/120hz in the future? Or is it possible right now? Maybe this specific model is fresh on the market and MS havent made accurate patch for this model

    Hi John Anzo,

    Going by the Timings Table in the manual for your monitor (page 49), I would say your monitor doesn’t support 2560x1440 @ 120hz, only 1920x1080
    @ 120hz.

    I don’t think this is an Xbox issue and there is nothing to fix as this is a monitor specification issue. The monitor may be rated to achieve 144hz, but that does not mean it may offer those refresh rates in all resolutions.

    At 1440p, your options are 60/75/144hz and I believe that is why you can only get the console to pick up 60hz when choosing the 1440p option.

    I'm still hoping Microsoft will have a fix soon for this problem with my AOC AGON AG322QC4 hooked up to an Xbox One X in the hdmi 2.0 port using a hdmi 2.0 cable.

    The best I can set it to is 120hz @1080p or 60hz @1440p. With 60hz @1440p I can activate Variable Refresh Rate but I really want 120hz @1440p.
    Well according to tom hardware 144hz is only suppotted with freesync your best option is to use the tv setup wizard

    And then asking your monitor manufacturer for help it maybe that it is only supported in freesync and display port only for that hz and resolution please refer to your manufacturer for more info

    Xbox is usually good with detection

    I looked at the manual the previous users posted ya
