(13+) Xbox Enforcement is awful. Do better, Xbox.

I've been waiting way too long to express all of my feelings, and my perspective on Xbox moderation. If you don't want to read this, that's fine, but I'd love if you did. It's the length of an essay, which is actually quite funny, makes me seem like a keyboard warrior. Without further ado, here's the two page essay of pure anger that I wrote in about twenty minutes. I hope I get an A.

I'm sick of XBL moderation. Enforcers rarely take action when it counts, and when they do take action, it's usually against something small that should still be moderated, but shouldn't be prioritized. I have seen countless people violate serious rules in the code of conduct in low-key ways just to avoid being banned. I've even seen people use Xbox's broken moderation system to their advantage. I've been unfairly banned because of awful people for the dumbest reason. In this message, I will explain in detail each incident, and how it's ruining my experience on Xbox.

The first incident started with someone named [mod removed](number unknown) where we got into a dispute. Never did I insult him. However, he called me a [mod removed[], which obviously alludes to a racial slur. I proceed to send him a voice message saying something like "shut the hell up that isn't funny" or "why the hell would you say that, that's not cool". Apparently, I'm the one that gets banned despite the fact that he was being directly racist to me. I don't think I overreacted in this situation, I never used any STRONG swear words, and even if I did, I'm sure they would be more tame than a racial slur.

The second incident happened with a user named [mod removed], who I think should be terminated from Xbox for this. Since Xbox uses bots to moderate their profile pictures, this person set his profile picture to an anime girls with bare breasts on the screen. I reported him two times, and thankfully the enforcers are competent enough to at least reset his profile picture. I still don't think that's enough, though. You are exposing pornography to minors by making that your profile picture. Additionally, a lot of people have used the garbage moderation to get sexual profile pictures. Since they're not completely explicit, they're still allowed, but it's still clear that they shouldn't be on the platform. The most damning thing is that I attempted to upload a profile picture of Wakko Warner eating a cake. It was deemed inappropriate, and I couldn't use the picture.

The final, and worst incident happened very recently with someone named [mod removed] (no typo). He posted something like "let's discuss why LGBTQ+ is bad and why :monkey emoji:s are bad" with the tags #TRUMP2024 and something else. I assume he's a troll, and request to join saying something like "you're obviously a troll, are you even trying?". He messages me asking me to join the party, and I join the party. I don't say anything mean, and he decides that he's going to post his address, trying to challenge me to visit him. IT turns out that after questioning him, he leaks his address, which is a horrible thing to do. Even if he's a homophobic racist, I'm still concerned for his safety because he expressed that he's sent his address to multiple people. In the party, he also calls me the N word with a hard R, and uses the gay F slur against some random person that joined the party. He also expresses that he's been reported by multiple poeple, and has never been banned. His profile picture is the KKK. Let me piece together what enforcement should've done to this man. They should've checked this guy's profile picture, and actually review the party (if applicable.) This is why reporting for voice communication is so useless, because you may be unable to prove that something happened, even if it's the worst thing ever. Despite this, the moderators still could've looked at this person's background and check what he's been saying. They need to dig deeper, because people like him shouldn't be on the internet. Additionally, he should be banned for leaking his own address for his OWN SAFETY. Despite the fact that he has a firearm, he still shouldn't leak his full address to people.

Another general topic I want to talk about is Looking for group. There are countless attention seekers saying #ImAGirl, Needing 15 people and saying something seductive in the post. There are also a bunch of online daters. These people should be terminated, especially [mod removed], who's reposted an image containing softcore [mod removed] on his profile. Do you see why i'm so frustrated? There are these horrible people that constantly ruin everyone's experience on Xbox, and I'm starting to hate it. Please fix it. Get rid of the attention seekers, get rid of the weird people that promote [mod removed] and sexual content saying that it's a "joke".

What I just mentioned is another topic I want to talk about. Not everything is a joke. I've reported an image of two people in fur suits showing off their butts in a bed, and it's still up. This is disgusting. I don't care how much of a joke it is, it's [mod removed]. There are kids on this platform, there are teens on this platform, and there are adults on this platform that still don't want to see it, for any given reason. I am disgusted with Xbox's horrible moderation. Words cannot describe how terrible it is.

Overall, here's a list of things I think you should do.

Ban ANY tags or words involving gender in Looking for Group to prevent attention seekers from going on there and spamming their garbage. It shouldn't matter if you're a girl. Oh, you're a girl? You need 15 people? You're lonely? You like to say uwu? You want to be dominated? Shut the hell up, attention seeker. That's my point for this one.

CHECK the people that are being reported and check MOST of the chat logs of the people that have been reported. If you are REALLY unable to send more than one messages in a report for Xbox, there is something seriously wrong with your moderation.

Make moderation more strict. Seriously. I can't believe that there are some things that are still alllowed on xbox. As someone that's fourteen years old, I still think that Xbox should be kept PG, if not slightly above PG. I do not want to see a girl in only her panties. I do not want to see two girls pressing their breasts together. I do not want to see everyone's cleavages. I do not want to see a furry's butt. I do not want to see anime girls laying down submissively. I do not want to see a picture of someone's thighs. I do not want to see pictures of girls below their skirts. This disgusts me. I want it off my screen. Calling me [mod removed] directly as an insult in the context of the conversation isn't a joke, it's racist.

Be fair with the moderation. If I say something mean, it's most likely because someone else said something mean to me. I've been banned for saying things, possibly in an insulting way, but I haven't directly insulted anyone and have been banned for it. I'm not insulting someone by saying that they need mental help, I genuinely believe it. I was punished for saying something like "you need mental help" on the aforementioned photo of the furries showing off their butts. This disgusts me to my core. Do better.

Finally, the last thing you should do is get humans to moderate profile pictures. It might be boring for moderators, but maybe fellow players or Xbox Ambassadors can volunteer to review some profile pictures! There can be a voting system where everyone decides whether a profile picture is good or bad, though the community can be composed of a bunch of trollers that upvote [mod removed]. Humans should review profile pictures instead of bots so that the system is foolproof.
