    120hz not showing BenqXL2430

Hi, I have just bought a new monitor Benq XL2430 it says it is 144hz however when I try to select 120hz on my Xbox one the monitor loses signal and changed it back to 60hz automatically? I’m wondering that I have bought a monitor which doesn’t support 120hz over hdmi !! However could somebody please tell me/prove that the monitor BenqXL2536 is supported by hdmi at 120hz? I need to swap my XL2430 for another monitor which supports 120hz over hdmi please help

    1440p at 120hz not showing

    Hello!

My name is Dérek, I'm an independent platform consultant and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help you.

DRAV3N213, Let's first check if the console has any bugs, okay? Because initially, it has this option from 1440p to 120hz.

But monitors behave differently with PC than with console.

PC has a variable rate, adapting to the hardware.

The console has 120hz Fixed, necessarily the monitor must be only 120hz, to have a 100% chance of working.

    But let's test it.

Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

Select System > Settings > System > Console Information

    Select Reset Console.

Restore and keep my games and apps.

Rest assured, you won't miss games or saves

When asking to pull settings from an old xbox, put no

You will have to log in your accounts again, that's all

Press the Xbox button to open the panel.

Select System > Settings > General > TV and video options.

    Select Video loyalty and overscan.

    Under Screen, select HDMI.

Then choose the 1080p and 120hz resolution.

See if it works, if it works, try to go up to 1440p

If it doesn't work, then it's monitor incompatibility. But you can still call the Monitor Manufacturer support, for them to check the internal settings of your monitor.

I remain at your disposal if you have any further questions.

1440p @ 120Hz not working with my monitor on Xbox Series X

How old is your monitor? I only ask as I found this on the Dell support site:

    https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/S3220DGF-not-running-120Hz-5/td-p/7574963

It seems sometime between 2019 and 2020, they may have made changes to that model to enable 120Hz...as the community manager mentions:

"You are referencing the new S3220DGF User's Guide A01 dated April 2020 which shows HDMI 2560x1440 120Hz."

"All past S3220DGF + Xbox One X threads referenced the old User's Guide A00 dated September 2019 which did not show HDMI 2560x1440 120Hz."

"The manufacturer at the factory is installing a newer EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) on New unsold and used/refurbished S3220DGF to allow HDMI 1920x1080 120Hz and HDMI 2560x1440 120Hz."

So, if your monitor is pre-September 2020, then it would be working on the old timings which won't allow 120Hz due to the EDID timings. If you have a PC, you can check to see what it shows for the 120Hz range....the Xbox needs a timing of exactly 120Hz whereas sometimes a monitor timing will be 119.99Hz

Why is my Acer LCD monitor KG272 165HZ not working?

you need a monitor that shows exactly 120hz in the edid information, if it shows 119.86 which a lot of monitors do then it will not work, there are monitors out that are designed to work with consoles now that have the exact standards.

pc can pretty much use anything, consoles can't.

    My monitor supports 60, 75, 85, 90, 120, 144, 165, used this on my series s and 120hz works fine as 120 is exactly 120hz.

Why is my monitor not letting me select 1440p and 120hz at the same time?

    from the xbox insiders reddit:

    "

Xbox One Insiders - 120Hz FAQ

Q: I don’t see the dropdown under the Video Output settings that allows me to select 120Hz refresh rate.

A: The Refresh setting will only appear if your console and display support 120Hz over HDMI. 120Hz is only supported on Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles, and while using a TV or monitor that supports 120Hz over HDMI. While some monitors support 120Hz over
DisplayPort, they may not support it over HDMI.

Please note that there is a bug in the 430 build that 120hz does not show if you meet these conditions but have the color depth set to anything BUT 8-bit. The new build today to Alpha (504 build) fixes this bug."
