    12 Months Live Code Region Locked...


    Hi.

    When trying to redeem my United Kingdom xbox live subscription code I get an error message saying it is locked in this region. These types of codes have always been region free so I don't understand why this error message is coming.

    Can anyone help.

    Is The Xbox LIVE Code From Amazon Region Locked?

    Yes 12 month codes are region free - some 12 +1 cards are region locked.

    MS points are Region locked

    Sorry for the confusion. Lemme give a more detailed story.

    I created my live account in the USA. I am not gold then. So my Billing account is in the USA.

    I now live in Singapore, I got a new XBOX 360 w/c is region locked for asia, namely Singapore.

    I got a 12 month gold card here in Singapore. Would it be alright if I redeem this code to my USA Live account.

    In another short set of words.

    My LIVE account: USA

    My 12 month card: Singapore, Asia

    My XBOX 360: Region Locked for Asia.

    XBOX Live Gold Memberships are NOT region free any longer. Microsoft had prepaid 12 month subscription codes out in the wild previously that were not region locked at all, this has changed
    recently. All new cards manufactured and redeemed are indeed region locked now. Please make sure that you are purchasing LIVE memberships in a country where your region is set to so you do not run into any problems. There's no guarantee that if you purchase
    a code from the Amazon US store that it will work on your account located in New Zealand.

    Better to be safe than sorry.
