11GB Update Mandatory - Gears of War 4

Forcing 11GB updates to customers? I should have the option to skip the update. I live in a rural area. I have limited high speed data. This is my only option where I live. I was able play game once, then this mandatory update appeared. Your support
suggested taking console to local hotspot. Really? Xbox and my TV into town, just so I can play the game again? I understand Microsoft Studios is trying to improve the game with updates and fixed, but I should have the option to delay or skip the update.
Hope you understand. If each Xbox One game requires these large updates, aren't you limiting your market to area where high speed internet is available? I purchased the game for single person campaign only. I am ok without the update. I have owned every
Xbox console. With previous systems, it was easy to rent or purchase a game. Just put the disc in and play. Now install the game and install updates, then in a month you maybe forced in install more updates. I understand with this level of graphics and
the next gen games, hard drive space is needed for install. Why force the updates for people in my situation? I now have a Gears of War 4 disc, which will cost me 11GB of data around ($35) to play again.

Gears of War 4 - too early, can't play

This is according to Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson, who confirmed as much on Twitter. The game is 43,6GB and the first day patch is 11GB, bringing the total install size for Gears of War 4 up to 54.6GB on launch day.

 

Disc owners still have to download entire game?

The game installs off the disc. You only have to download the 11GB day one update.
