$10 gift card free with 3 month xbox live subscription

Bought an Xbox one on Saturday June 27th 2015 and I bought 3 month xbox live subcription for the xbox menu, it showed i would recieve a $10 gift card with purchase but i havent seen or heard anything about it since then

Forgive my ignorance, but my wife just bought $60 gift cards that certainly appear to be for a 12 month XBOX Live Gold Subscription.

Our intent was to buy gift cards for my nephews that they can spend whatever they want.

Do the gift cards have to be spent on the Gold subscription, or can they be spent elsewhere?

On Microsoft web sight and that time the massage was you will getting after 10 days 3 month free code in your email but i did not receive any code from Microsoft Xbox .so what should I do now
