1.5 Year Old Xbox One S Several Problems

My Xbox One S has been suffering from several different problems for several months now. It starts up correctly maybe 1 in 12 attempts. It rarely accepts discs once it turns on, so I have to restart it, only for it to not restart properly. If I'm lucky enough
to get it to turn on AND accept a disc, it doesn't read the disc. I can't even install my games. I've tried everything too. I chatted with support, their recommended solutions didn't work. I sent it in and paid $160, but the Xbox was sent back to me with a
note that said nothing was wrong. They also kept my $160 for doing nothing but resetting it. The problems came back. I chatted with support for second time, they said my case would be escalated. I didn't hear anything back for a month. Then I traveled 1,500
miles on Christmas vacation to take my console to a Microsoft store because there isn't one near me. They said there were no problems. Now I'm back home and the problems are still there. This morning I tried to install my games. I did factory reset on my own,
and the problems are still there. I haven't been able to play a game on my Xbox for 2 months now or hardly use it for almost 5 months. I'm extremely frustrated at this point and I want something done about it now. What do I have to do to get some actual help?

Hi there,

If you do a search on xbox.com 's support pages, there should be plenty of troubleshooting tips to try. Alternatively, it may be worth purchasing a new console, if you are having many mechanical issues, as the repair costs you are citing are almost as much
as a new console.. I'm sorry to have to resort to that advice, as it really shouldn't happen, but it may be the only viable way forward, if troubleshooting does not help.

Hello Sidewayzz, I'm sorry to hear you are having those problems with your Xbox One S. I don't know if you already tried that, but I'll suggest you to plug your xbox on a different outlet. If for some reason this outlet are not giving enough power to your
console it may malfunction. I'm thinking of this because you said that your console was tested twice with microsoft support/store and it worked correctly there, and this is the only thing I could think of that may differ from your home.

I'm sorry to read you have such trouble with your console.

Would it be possible to record a video of your console "misbehaving", and then giving the support a link to that video so they can see that the console shows that erratic behaviour?

Or if possible for you, and you have business to do near that Microsoft store again, I'd try to have them hook up the console while you're there, so you can show them the console not working properly.

Otherwise, the service person might get those lucky times the console starts up normally, and can't find the issue.

I have the old Elite 120 GB, froze once, then i installed it, no problem since then

i think it is 1.5 - 2 years old now
