    0xCFFFFC16 Error - Xbox is now useless


    I have done every step to fix the 0xcffffc16. After resetting, now the login screen blips, then spinny circle, the nothing. I called support and was told my Xbox is four months out of warranty and I just need to replace it because it’s going to cost $300 to fix it.

    From the other things I’ve read - on here and in Reddit, it sounds like Xbox is recommending replacement. If you bought from Best Buy and got the extra protection, they replace your Xbox because that is what Microsoft is suggesting. If you did not, like me, they want you to send them the Xbox and $300 so they can “repair” it. It sounds like they just want to sell me a $300 Xbox x.

    This is utterly frustrating. They know there’s a problem. It is not a network issue. It is not my account. I am logged in on my new Xbox x and everything works fine. This is a software issue and instead of trouble shooting and giving us a fix, they want us to replace.

    I’m disappointed. Yall need to fix this. Enough people have this error with the exact same outcome (some people calling the Xbox a paperweight) that it needs to be addressed.

    1. No, I got it 6 months ago.

    2. I kept getting error code 0xcffffc16.

    3. probably around September it didn't happen often, but if it did I would just restart the console and the issue would be gone.

    The 360 is will be fully uselful because the Xbox One won't even be able to play 360 games nor Arcade games.

    360 will continue to get games but they won't look as good. xbox one games should be in 1080p and look much better with AA, so less jaggies.

    that said, if you play on a SDTV or even 720p the upgrade might not be as massive.

    I can't believe some post people actually post on here. Always on wouldn't improve the One at all it was just there as a restriction. The Cloud is still unproven at this point so no point getting too excited about that. Titanfall and Destiny don't come out
    till 2014. When Watchdogs hits the shelfs it be interesting to compare on all systems. There's no rush to upgrade and there's still going to be a lot released for current gen as that's where the numbers are.
