0x87E0000F error when trying to install Texas Chainsaw game on Game Pass PC

If the Xbox app utilizes the same account and the save (or cloud game) is synced properly, an Xbox game or games stored on an external hard drive may be playable on another PC. However, there is a chance that the game or games may fail or not start at all.

I hope this will be useful to you as you decide whether to play the game that is stored on a removable hard drive on a different PC.

That is an interesting question, the game installed on specific drive is intended to be use on a specific computer. As we believe that is how it should work however, if you would like to know further, I might update you next week if you don't mind.

We have found a similar error code you had however this is for the Xbox Console installation of games. Please ensure that you are trying to install the game in PC version - Buy The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - PC Edition | Xbox.

Should you select the correct version of the game, we recommend you try the following troubleshooting. Since this is the only game, you are having issues with, we might need to send feedback to the game support about this. You can just skip those you have done already and let us know the result.

• Restart device -
  
  • This will clear your computer’s memory/RAM.
    
• Keep your Windows updated -
  
  • Install PC updates including Optional Update. Guide - Update Windows
    
    • Settings > Update & Security (Windows 10) or Windows Update (Windows 11) > Check for updates > download updates and install > restart device and wait for the update to be done.
      
  • If you have issues with update, please check the troubleshooting steps available here - Troubleshoot problems updating Windows.
    
• Update your Windows and Windows drivers:
  
  • For the best game performance, make sure your system’s video card drivers (or display adapter drivers) are up to date. • Update Xbox app and Gaming Services from Microsoft Store
  
  • Launch Microsoft Store app on Windows by searching it on Windows search bar.
    
  • Select Library > Updates & downloads > check if an update is available for the Xbox app.
    
  • If an update is available, select Update.
    
  • Launch Xbox app and check at the bottom of the page, if an update is available for Gaming Services.
    
• Sign out your account on Microsoft Store and Xbox app. Make sure you are signed in to Microsoft Store and Xbox app with the same credentials.
  
• (EA App) Close both Xbox app and EA app and relaunch the Xbox app.
  
• Uninstalling and reinstalling Gaming Services.
  
  • Right-click the Start button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    
  • Type this command one at a time, press enter and wait:
    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
    
  • Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
    
  • Restart your device and try to install the game again

Try turning off any antivirus and firewall protections you have enabled then retry the download. This happened to me too.

Thanks for your response, I'd tried all the solutions mention before posting this with no luck.

I should've mentioned, I'm using multiple drives, the drives had xbox game pass games installed from my old computer on them.

Deleting the windowsapps folder, as well as the other windows folders that are created automatically when installing a new app/game. Seems to have allowed me to install games on my E drive, though my G drive still doesn't seem to able to install new games from the xbox app.

I might just have to format my G drive, though could you tell me what the process is if you're moving a drive, with game pass games installed, on to a new computer?
