0x406 error cant use the xbox app at all

Trying to open the xbox app and wout even doing anything it denies me to logg on even if i havnt written any username or password... tried reinstalling the xbox app.. didnt work.

Perform the steps mentioned below and see if it helps.

a: Press Windows key + X.

b: Then click Command Prompt(Admin)

c: Now type the following command and hit enter

Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage

Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

After a restart (signing out and back in didn't work for me) I entered the following command (again in a powershell in admin):

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

changed the timezone and auto adjust time.

Tried making a new account and then attemted the same + opening the xbox app again

nothing works been talking to 3 different people on the live chat with no help..

For some reason when i start the xbox app it says 0x406 error and i have tried the post you guys did years ago but now i cant yous the windows store or the xbox app.

Thank you for your response, let us try to re-register your Xbox app on your computer. Please follow the instructions below:



    1. Type Windows Powershell in search box.



    2. Right click on Windows Powershell and select Run as administrator.



    3. Copy and paste the following command.

         get-appxpackage *Microsoft.XboxApp* | remove-appxpackage 



4. Press Enter key.





After uninstalling the Xbox app, we suggest you to download and install the app again and check.

Just as i knew it dsnt work, nothing changes.. still get the same error and cant logg inn, cant even change the account, glad i had to wait 4 days for that reply

Method 1: How to start Windows 10 in selective startup mode and stop apps from running in the background

msvcp110.dll missing.

1. Press Windows + R on the keyboard.



2. Type msconfig, and then click OK.



3. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.



4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, Click Restart.
