0kb update on minecraft, not making progress

To fix this, we may need to perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Minecraft has 0KB update that is 1.66GB. It updates when it is queued and when it gets to 100% it doesn’t finish. Help!

I tried both of those options and neither rof them worked, I'm not sure what to do as Minecraft still wants me to update a 0KB update. It even duplicates itself.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

I was able to fix this problem for myself and to be honest, I’m not entirely sure how. I somehow managed to force Minecraft to uninstall itself (the base game) from my system even though it wouldn’t let that happen at first. When it was uninstalled, I reinstalled it. It still asked to go through with the 0kb update. I turned off the system and went back in and nothing changed. This time, however, I went through with the strange update once more and it actually updated? Now my Minecraft works as it usually would.
