0 Unknown Disk error on XBox PC App

Hello,

When attempting to install any game on the XBox app for Windows 10 ( latest version as of posting ) I encounter errors in which attempting to install a game will give me the error "() Unknown Disk" under the installation location menu.

I have tried the following solutions:

1. Installing Gaming Services

2. Enabling all Services for XBox, Gaming Services and IP Helper

3. Reinstalling all XBox related apps multiple times

4. Making sure all disk partitions are formatted

5. Uninstalling Gaming Services through Powershell and the Registry.

6. Attempting to use the Mobile app to remote into downloads

I am extremely lost, and I have tried all of these multiple times. I have no idea what might be occurring.

Can you see if these solutions help you? Unknown Available Drive with XBox App on PC - Microsoft Community There are users who were seeing the same issue. Since you said you've done the registry edits, I would check out Mew's answer on the thread stating:

"Can now occur if you have deleted the "Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps" and "WindowsApps" folders on other drives even when they're empty and unused. Uninstalling and reinstalling Gaming Services will not help this issue. To fix the problem I was having you need to go into SETTINGS -> SYSTEM -. STORAGE and select "CHANGE WHERE NEW CONTENT IS SAVED" and change where new apps are saved to the drives you removed those folders from. Then you can change it back to your default. This is an Xbox app problem for some dumb reason."

Let me know if this helps out, if it doesn't, we can get some more info about your set up and system and find a better solution for you.

Go into Disk Management on your PC and you will see it as either Unknown or Unallocated then format it.

the ones that have the s at the beginning are usually unknown, i get them when i move hdd's from one pc to another.

as to the app, looks like Microsoft will keep this and integrate more with windows 10, some of the gamepass games are actual ports from the xbox and in xvd format (xbox virtual disk).

Well for one you cant redeem a discord code on a xbox its only a pc or mobile app

The problem actually is, i can't redeem the Discord Nitro because it gets a ''Unknown Gift Code'' error (it's the code i got from the xbox), (trying on pc).

Hi Miss Ermine,

Assassin's Creed is a new purchase I have just made.

The only three titles I've tried to purchase from the Marketplace are BioShock (quit after 0%, "Can't Download" error), Borderlands (Quit after 7%, same error, recently purchased the game disk) and Assasin's Creed (quit after 0%, same error as the last two).
I can download demos and apps (Netflix, NHL Gamecenter) with no problems, though.
