0/5 Home Xbox switches when I haven’t switched in years

I am literally having the same exact problem. Word for word what Nick said. I’m currently without internet so I tried to switch my Xbox to “home Xbox” by using a personal hotspot. It said 0/5 changes left then I disconnected from the hotspot and reconnected. It then said I have 5/5 changes, but when I tried to make this Xbox my home one it said “can’t save changes”. It now shows I have 0/5 changes again even though I’ve haven’t changed this year. What is going on? I just want to play my game offline.

Same. Exactly. I understand everything doesn't work perfectly or even as planned sometimes and this inconvenience is just that, an inconvenience that me and some others are experiencing.

There seems to be a common thread here though and with just the few who have come here to ask for a solution I'd guess it may be worth looking into, please. If not for us few then the potential this is more widespread than represented here or could become such. It would save alot of loyal gamers a good amount of frustration and inconvenience. Thank you and hopefully someone from the Microsoft team picks up on this. Any consideration and effort to help is greatly appreciated.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble when trying to enable Home Xbox on your console.

At the moment, I didn’t see similar reports regarding this inconvenience.

Please try connecting your console to a different Wi-Fi network, remove your profile from the console, and then perform a physical power cycle by disconnecting the power cable:

"Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.



Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on."

Once the console is on, add your profile, double check if the console is connected to the other Wi-Fi network and verify your home switches.

Update

Alright I don't know how or why but this is what I did.

Went to home (from settings/ my home xbox)

Closed/quit settings from options menu

Went back to settings/ personalisation/ home xbox

Went to learn more

Went to Number of Switches/ learn more

Read through/ opened all the Home Xbox topics

Selected 'No' under "did this resolve your issue" and hit B to go back

Now back at "number of Switches" pressed left over to settings next to learn more (where I just was)

Navigated back to personalization/ home Xbox

After a little buffering it showed the options and the box for make this my home Xbox was checked and it said I had 5/5, I hit the Xbox Button on the controller to get back to the home screen.

Went to try the game and it worked...

I'm at a loss on this but I'm happy
