    Xbox App - Game Update Delivery Optimization


    with the new Xbox app going live, may we suggest that you add a functionality to allow pre-download updates to occur in the app. I have CoD installed on Battlenet and Xbox app, however on Battle if there is a CoD update for Thursday evening, by Tuesday morning I am able to download update so when the update goes LIVE I only have to download a small file and I am good to PLAY. why cant we have the same functionality on the new Xbox app? I mean there's an option for predownloads on the Xbox app but I have never predownloaded a game before!

    Xbox App Windows 10 - Download SO SLOW with a Gigabit Speed

    THIS is the real fix.

    Everyone having this issue probably limited the bandwith for Delivery Optimization at some point because windows updates (Delivery optimization process) took all of your bandwith one day and you hated it.

    Turns out, the XBOX App uses the Delivery Optimization to download games, so it gets the same limit you setup on Windows Update.

    Hey Lukas Lauer,

    I have already turned Delivery Optimization off in the Windows Settings.

    Is there anything else that is possibly creating these high network usages from the Delivery Optimization. As I've mentioned earlier this only happens when I start downloading Games from the XBox App.

    Windows 11 game downloaded from the Xbox app disappeared after the SSD was disconnected and reconnected.

    The reset needs to be done with the Xbox app not the game, but if it doesn't appear among your installed games you as I mentioned can delete the files trough the "windowsapp" folder and disable optimization delivery

    Currently, Windows 10 doesn't have official support for making a copy or backup of downloaded Store apps and games for use on another device. The closest official feature is

    Delivery Optimization     which lets you download the app or game from another computer on your local network; see if that feature is suitable for your needs.
