Resync my TV? I fixed the problem by switching the HDMI input into the tv from one HDMI port to another. How would resolution have anything to do with it? The ports are all the same, with the same resolution. I believe there developed a conflict since
I am using the provided HDMI 2.1 cable that came with the Xbox Series X, connecting the console to my LG TV with an 2.0 HDMI port. I have the feeling that had something to do with it. My TV is barely more than a year old.

Same issue since day one release. I have yet to get this to work with my Series X. I just shipped my Series X back today for GPU failure.

This feature still works fine with my Xbox One X Scorpio Edition.

Also on your Samsung TV, did your input change from the green Xbox to the blue generic "Game Console"? Mine did as if the TV does not recognize the device as an Xbox console. I can switch it out with my Xbox One X and the input icon changes back to the green Xbox.

It seems to be a VERY obscure (but capable issue) basically I ended speaking to somebody who had the exact same problem I had. After I had purchased my new expenssive HDMI and also factory reset my Series X the sound issue happened again and as i remembered that this other fellow had been having the same issue in which all he would do was change inputs for a moment and then immediately change back (which fixes it) I asked him if he happened to have a Sony XH90 and he actually has a Sony X90J (which to sum up is basically the *exact* same TV as mine). So it seems this particular line of new Xbox Series X ready televisions with 4k and HDMI 2.1 have an odd glitch where they will mess audio up (rarely) and all you have to do is switch inputs and then switch back! Hopefully it gets fixed in a Sony firmware update. Thank you so much for all your help!

after spending some time talking with technical support on both Xbox and Netflix. neither one has a clue. i narrows it down to being a video problem rather and than a program problem. 1 of the tech guys i talked to started blaming my TV. that not the case
cuz i tried it on another TV and had the same issue. for now the only solution is to switch between video inputs int he TV and it refreshes the signal so it works when you switch back. maybe someone from MS will pick up on this issue and send out a patch

i had a similar issue with another console that shall not be named lol, and it was random, turn it on and id get picture but no sound, other times sound but no picture. when that happened i would have to change the input on my tv, then change it back. usually
fixed it. to be clear i would have to change it to another active input,in other words another HDMI device that was turned on. changing it to tv wouldnt work, simply turning it off and back on didnt work either. my guess is that when i changed it to another
input it reinitialized the handshake. the problem stopped after i got a new tv so that could be your problem.
