(Disc-to-Digital) Games published by Ubisoft and Square Enix cannot be claimed

Discus and support (Disc-to-Digital) Games published by Ubisoft and Square Enix cannot be claimed in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I tried claiming the digital license for every physical Xbox One game that I own by these two publishers.     (Disc-to-Digital) Games published by Ubisoft and Square Enix cannot be claimed


    I tried claiming the digital license for every physical Xbox One game that I own by these two publishers. Every other game I tried to claim worked fine except Destiny 1 which produced a different error message.

    The games I tried to digitize that failed are:

    Far Cry 4 Assassin's Creed: Unity Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Just Cause 3 Just Cause 4 Rise of the Tomb Raider Shadow of the Tomb Raider

    These games all produced the exact same error message when attempting to claim:

    Digital license unavailable This game is not participating in digital licensing. You can still play with the disc inserted.

    This error message suggests to me that these publishers intentionally opted out of the disc-to-digital program entirely, which means if the next Xbox console does not have a disc drive then players who own these games physically (such as myself) will either need to keep their old console around to continue to have access to these games or they will need to re-buy games from these publishers digitally to continue to play them into the next console generation.

    UBISOFT Customer support said. Please consult with Taito support.

    Taito Customer support said. Please consult with Square Enix Support.

    Square Enix Customer support said. Please consult with Customer Microsoft support.

    Between November and December 2018, I contacted three Customer support of Taito,

    Square Enix, UBISOFT.

    The problem has not been solved so far.

    I already played all the games i want on my 360 (and still have it).

    And lazy devs/publishers will allow you to play current gen games on next gen systems (Thanks to Ubisoft,EA,Activision,Square Enix,ect....) ;)

    Backward compatibility is a myth......

    You should ask Square Enix, as they own the game, and develop/publish it too.
