    So my question is if I put my disc in on my old Xbox and I sign into my new Xbox without a disc drive do I still get the game digitally on my series s even tho I didn’t use the disc on it since it has no disc drive?

    To answer your first question, that's correct. At least one of the games needs to be a digital copy. As for buying a disc based game, just like before, you'll need to download the game to the HDD, but unfortunately, no, you can't upload it to the cloud.
    If it's disc based, the disc has to be in the tray, plain and simple. Hope that helps.

    Hi!

    Once you purchase it digitally from the Xbox Store, it will show up in My Games and Apps\Ready to Install. No disc needed.

    as far as i know there was a plan to make it posiple to Change Discs to digital versions. Maybe there is a way but only Microsoft can answer this important Question.
