  1. Insider Cloud streaming from xbox series x console is not as consistent as Cloud streaming...

I had been in xbox insider delta for months before recently getting into beta. Something I've noticed about the insider features for cloud gaming is that on Xbox when I stream the game, it's not very consistent. Though I have game pass ultimate, in the settings and without getting too detailed I can choose the exact quality of my stream. But even then the stream is quite lower quality on xbox than when I stream from the xbox app on my laptop. On my low end gaming laptop, depending on, if I choose performance or quality mode in the game. My stream will switch correctly between 1440p or 1080p and about 30/40/60fps. Versus on xbox I am almost always stuck at 1080p, at least one time it said 720p and sometimes I get 1440p. The frames I get is around 60 fps but a lot of times is about 30 fps regardless of the quality or performance mode I choose. Also the image tends to be more blurry and has more input lag, plus more jitter. To be clear, I am not talking about going onto the xbox.com Xcloud gaming page in order to cloud stream with xcloud. I am talking about natively cloud streaming from your console or pc/laptop xbox app. Lastly, I have tried this out on both my 1440p 165hz monitor and my 4k 120hz tv same result for my xbox each time.

Xbox cloud gaming on Series S powered by Series X

Xbox Cloud gaming servers were upgraded to Series X hardware some time ago, and games are streamed from those servers in 720p and 60 fps if the game supports it. Since the cloud streaming only gives 720p and 60 fps, which is less than the Series S, then you are getting a difference in graphics when using the console.

Microsoft are testing streaming in 1080p though, so hopefully, when 1080p streaming starts, there won't be much of a difference in graphics whatever you use.

New Xbox App - Streaming from console

    until xcloud comes to pc
I don't see how these things are related? Xcloud is great for what it's supposed to do, but isn't quite the same as streaming your games from your Xbox over your network to another device.

X cloud actually will allow you to stream from your console, in addition to streaming from Microsoft servers. Both devices can be on the same network, but allows flexibility in that they don't HAVE to be. I imagine they want to keep all streaming services
together for simplicity. It's also possible they are revamping the Xbox app to be more stable and compatible with the Series X console releasing this year, as well.

Xbox cloud gaming on Series S powered by Series X

    Thanks for all the answers.

As two of you mentioned, cloud gaming is powered by Series X now, like I mentioned too.

I still have the same question. Isn't there also quality difference in graphics between Series S and Series X? Like textures are more detailed and shadows are rendered better in Series X? Now if Series X is used on cloud gaming, isn't those improvements then on Series S too via streaming from cloud? Or are the Series S and Series X exactly the same graphics wise in general but Series S just has lower resolution?

I understand that cloud gaming isn't 4K and there might be latency issues etc but that wasn't my question.

    Thanks.

    Xbox app streaming black screen

    Same here.

Since a few days, Xbox App stream just show a black screen, whether I want to stream from cloud, my XSX, or XO.

Old "Companion" app still streams perfectly for XO. Cloud works perfectly from browsers on the PC. It's clearly the Xbox App that's at fault here.
Did you find a way to solve this?

I have the same problem in my laptop!! My xbox app don't work for xcloud or stream from my xbox series.

Xbox cloud gaming on Series S powered by Series X

they are using series x hardware in the datacentre's now, so in fact series games on the cloud are running via mostly series x hardware, still the quality is set by your internet speed and latency, if you have good speeds but your latency is rubbish then you will get reduced picture quality to prioritise controller latency.

but cloud gaming is still only streamed at 720p.
