    Feature Request: Xbox needs a "Platinum Trophy" equivalent for 100% completion


    The Problem:
    Right now, completing 100% of achievements in an Xbox game just adds to a flat, total Gamerscore number. Because of this, PlayStation dominates the game completion and "Trophy Hunting" sub culture on YouTube and TikTok. Content creators constantly make videos like "Can I Platinum FNAF 2?" because a "Platinum Trophy" is a highly marketable, visual symbol of absolute completion. Xbox lacks this iconic branding. I think Xbox could easily grab attention and other Content Creators could easily market Xbox. I think the idea would be to not fully copy the original PlayStation Trophy Model. Instead, a whole new "Trophy" would be made that has a green aesthetic rathen than the blue one that PlayStation has. This way, players could feel much more rewarded when completing game achievements, challenges, and more.

    Are they really an indication!

    GS means not a lot. I've had to start different acct's at times in order to get in a game due to a higher GS/aggressive rep etc...owned a lot and lost a lot, no matter if the opponents GS was low or Super high...

    Regarding trophies and GS...it's easy to see the equivalency on a particular game. If someone has 100% of a particular game then all trophies equivalent. That's bronze, silver, gold platinum. If not then compare a game and achievements completed. Achievements
    worth maybe 50-75-100 are like platinum, usually. Sorta like comparing trophies. Either system is no easier than the other to gauge. But GS matters nothing to me.

    Getting a platinum trophy is the PS3 equivalent of gettiing all the achievements in a game on the 360.

    Actually, I'm not even sure that this is the case on the PS3. I have a platinum trophy for Fallout 3, and a completion percentage at around 54%, but I got that platinum before the DLC was released. On games with DLC already, I'm not sure.

    I guess I'll find out soon; I just beat ME3 on insanity and I'm about 2300 kills away from a Platinum trophy there (assuming the fact that I didn't buy existing DLC isn't a barrier to the platinum trophy)....

    Turns out you can get a platinum trophy if you don't have DLC. I just platinumed ME3 this morning.

    However, it is worth noting that even though I have a platinum, my completion ratio sits at 97% when you look at my trophies...

    What has Happened to your Gamerscore on Xbox.com Homepage?

    I think Playstation has got it right with trophies personally, you get a platinum one if you complete all trophies on a game.
