    Xbox Series X – 0x8B050033 after leaving Delta Ring


    Hello,

    I left the Xbox Insider Delta Ring directly from my Xbox Series X on July 11, 2026.

    After leaving the program, the console became stuck in an update loop.

    The console is no longer listed in the Xbox Insider Hub on my Windows PC, and there are currently no devices associated with my Insider account.

    OSU1 installs successfully and the console reaches OOBE without any issues.

    However, as soon as I connect to the internet during OOBE, the console immediately attempts an online update and fails with:

    0x8B050033 / 0x00000201

    I have already tried:

    • Multiple factory resets
    • Multiple successful OSU1 installations
    • Ethernet
    • Wi‑Fi
    • Mobile hotspot

    The error only occurs after the console contacts Xbox services.

    Could this be a backend flighting or Insider unenrollment issue, even though the console no longer appears in the Insider Hub?

    I'm seeing this issue happen with other games and with other users too. I believe it's some problem with the servers.

    Maybe this step can help you, give it a try.

    Clean your console's MAC, restart when your internet devices for a few minutes, and try again.

    To clean the MAC follow this path

    Settings>general>network settings>advanced settings>alternative MAC address and click clear and restart the console when prompted.

    If you are installing the game to an external hard drive, try installing the game to the console's internal memory.
