    The default pricing tool is pricing games out of the Chinese market


    The current auto-pricing tool for the Xbox/Microsoft Store in China really needs a fix. Right now, it just takes the USD price, does a direct currency conversion to RMB, and adds tax.

    Because of this, games often end up costing more in China than they do in the US. A standard $20 indie game usually auto-prices itself way too high for local players to afford.

    Most indie devs (especially ID@Xbox teams) just accept the default prices in the backend because they don't know the local economy. As a result, they lose almost all their potential sales here to Steam. Steam's default tool actually adjusts prices based on local spending power—for example, it suggests around 58 RMB (about $8) for a $20 game, which makes sense for the region.

    Please update the regional pricing tool to suggest prices based on local economies, not just a flat currency conversion. Developers are missing out on a lot of sales because the default tool gives them bad numbers.

    I wouldn't put much value into the stock of the price itself. Take Google, for example, their stock is amazingly high, but they don't split. Other companies like Microsoft do split their stock to keep the price lower for new investors.

    Hate to say it but if all decisions are based on stock price dont expect any change on MS. Sure they are down a bit today but they are up overall in the past 30 days and 6 months.
