Zoo Tycoon Demo Will Not Launch OR Uninstall

Its just a demo, but when I tried to play it, it launches to the full screen title screen for about one second and then crashes back out to the dashboard. I didn't really care because it was just a demo, and figured I would just uninstall it and try to
reinstall it later... but it won't uninstall either.

I bring up the menu on and hit uninstall, and it asks me to confirm, which I do. Then it goes back to the Games and Apps screen, but the game doesn't uninstall. No error message appears. Nothing happens.

Any idea how I can get rid of this demo?

Can't remove demo?

I had downloaded the Zoo Tycoon demo about a month or so ago, I was going to clear up some space on my hard drive when I noticed that there were two separate listings for Zoo Tycoon under "Games":

One said "Zoo Tycoon Demo" and I could play, uninstall etc, which I've now uninstalled.

Then there is another which I cannot get rid of the tile for, which says "Zoo Tycoon" and under it says "Ready to install" it has a little cloud icon at the top right of the tile, but if I click menu I have no option to uninstall just go to store, so now
it's permanently stuck, which makes no sense, how can I remove this?

 

Uninstall Option Unavailable

Anyone else ever have an issue with an app/game not showing "Uninstall" in the menu? I installed the Zoo Tycoon demo when I first got the console because i thought my kids would like it. They didn't of course, and now I can't get rid of the icon! It shows
up grayed out with install as an option, but even if I try to install it doesn't do anything. However, if I go to the store I can actually download/install the demo again and then it shows that I have 2 Zoo Tycoons. I thought with the October update that I
could at least hide the icon, but even that doesn't work.

Doing a full power cycle did help this problem.

 

I am having a similar issue with the Zoo Tycoon demo. I have uninstalled it and performed a power cycle. Now the game sit's in my 'Installed' Apps saying 'Ready to install.' When I click install, nothing happens. Anyone know of a way to get rid of this?

Xbox Supprt are currently looking into the issue as I have the same problem to the one you're having. Feel free to contact them on twitter via @XboxSupport as they seem very helpful and it also lets them know that other people are having similar problems.

I re-downloaded Zoo Tycoon demo to see if that resolved anything but now I have two tiles, one that works and the greyed out one thart doesn't. Both tiles are of the Zoo Tycoon demo - the greyed out tile being next to useless. Power cycles do not resolve
the issue and re-downloading the demo and uninstalling does not resolve the issue either. On my conole the tile appears regardless of who is signed in or not signed in on my console so it's not just my account that's got the issue.

One solution they've asked me to try, but I refused, was to do a factory reset of my console to see if that fixes the issue.

I think I'd rather wait for the next update to see if that fixes/resolves the issue or wait for them to patch it as I don't want it to ruin any of my game saves or game progress and fundamentally have to reinstall everything again.

 

I also have this issue. I too have a gray zoo keeper tycoon icon that refuses to disappear just like is described above. Reinstalling it just creates a second non-gray icon (that fortunately CAN be removed).

If anyone has a solution to this, I would love to know about it.

 

Also (since it was mentioned). I wanted to tell whoever is watching these forums (in case it helps) that I did try to power cycle the Xbox One as described here:

(the link mentioned earlier in the thread no longer works). Unfortunately it did not help and I still have a gray icon in my applications. Bummer.

 

I also cannot remove the zoo tycoon demo. I have tried the hard reset but it doesnt fix the problem.

 

I also have this problem and after a few months, Xbox Support (via twitter) have informed me that this can be fixed by resetting the console to factory settings.

I do not see this as a suitable fix as I will lose all of my save data and spend at least a whole day re-installing my content to my Xbox One.

I'm going to wait until they offer a better solution like simply allowing the data to be removed.

Posting as I have the same problem with the Zoo Tycoon demo not uninstalling and being greyed out. Resetting to factory settings is not a solution and they should be embarrassed to present it as such.

 

I'm having the same exact problem as stated above and to suggest resetting to factory settings is a ridiculous idea. Please fix this Microsoft.
