Zombies in COD

I have COD Black OPs II, but the Zombie mode is NOT what I was expecting.

My girlfriend and I enjoy sitting on the couch together and shooting Zombies in games like Left4Dead and Resident Evil. The arcade nature of COD BO Zombie mode

(one or two hits and you are dead) is kind of frustrating for us. I think I have only seen TRANZIT mode.

I am here because I think I am missing something. Is there some other kind of Zombie mode that unlocks

if I play through the main campaign? (Hope not, I only bought COD BO II for the Zombies.) Or maybe I am thinking

of some other COD that has a Zombie campaign. Or maybe it was World at War? Or Modern Warfare?

Also, I remember the advertisements said you could play as a zombie if you wanted, but I have not seen that option.

So can someone tell me all about the Zombies in COD?

How do you feel about day one DLC, or DLC period

I started playing the new COD to find out we have to pay for zombies. I know COd fans, that buy COD just for the zombies..................................................

That'd be pretty fucking sweet, not going to lie. However I'd rather like to see COD WAW revamp.

COD WAW Zombies >> any other COD zombies

 

don't give up on zombies...with some practice and build up your bank and get some perks, it's a great mode and alot of fun...if you need some help and would like some help hit me up, I'll be on tonight and tomorrow

 

Thanks PsychoticRaptor! You are right, I was giving up too quick. It DOES take practice and a really different mind set, but I am starting to enjoy it now. If I could only convince my girl friend....

Anyway, I think I saw some interesting DLC for it online. Is any Zombie DLC available for couch co-op (split screen)?

thought I would leave some advice as well. I think that every zombie map (DLC included) can be played as co-op, but don't hold me to it.

I have been playing zombies since World at War and especially on the original Black Ops.

It is difficult at first, before you get the hang of it and start understanding when you should buy what perks, upgrade your weapons, among many other things.

Another thing that is very helpful is playing with people who have played for a good amount of time and understand that by playing with you, you will probably need to be revived more often..

If the person you are playing with has a mic, that makes things so much easier. For reference, I've gotten to round 39 on Kino, 35 on Acension, 30 something on Moon, etc. Finding people who are willing to wait to kill the crawlers make a ton of difference.
I usually don't upgrade my gun until atleast round 20. Strategy is SO important.

Black Ops 2 zombies aren't exactly my thing, and I definitely don't take it as seriously as BO1 but if you're interested, I would also be up for a match sometime (or even just to run around the map, get a feel for it, figure out strategy) . Send me a friend

Aha! So there IS some difference between BO 2 Zombies and other COD Zombie games?

If you've never played zombies on the first Black Ops, try looking up some videos on the tube.

They just have a different "feel" in my opinion. To be fair, I have download every map pack on BO1 so I have played and loved every single zombie map they have released and I have not downloaded any exclusive zombie map pack content for BO2 as of right now
(but after looking at pictures, I might consider it.)

On BO2, there is the option to play tranzit and then the maps individually(well in Survival mode, anyways) Compared to the BO1 maps, they are so tiny and hard to navigate around especially with more players so that makes it less fun and more of a "wow if
this guy runs over here, I'm screwed."

Tranzit is what I usually go for because you have the ability to run from one area to another, but it's almost too big which gets annoying when each team mate is in another area and you have to risk running or teleporting one place to another to revive them.

Some extra information : If you click on the bus depot, you have the option to play tranzit or survival. While on town and farm, you can play grief and survival. Grief is one team of players against the other. You can work against them and try to kill them
or you can choose to work as one big group and fight off the zombies and try to see how many rounds you guys can get up to. Usually, they choose not to work together because the game doesn't end until one team is all down.

Grief and survival are actually pretty fun, I think you and your girlfriend should give them a go if tranzit isn't your style.

 

The DLC maps are pretty cool... Each one got better and better and is worth buying all of them if you're an avid zombies player like me

 

For me, the biggest difference between 1 and 2 is that in 2, there are more tasks that need completing in order fully open the maps and I really like the "puzzle" element. whilst it was there in 1, it is less involved sometimes than in 2.

For me the best maps across both games is DIE RISE (2) and DER RIESE (1) and MOON (1) - all are DLC maps though. They are good fun and most certainly take time to get to master.

My best advice is:

- Take your time and learn the maps and training routes (e.g where its safe to trail hoards of Zombies).

- Learn the Zombie spawn points / map entry points... these will help save those WTF moments.

- Learn where the wall weapons are and which are best (e.g. the start area guns are usually only effective up until wave 3(ish) after which they need more shots to kill, whereas if you rely ont he start gun amd melee, you can usually get to a more powerful
gun fairly quickly. In addition, Ammo and clip capacity... take note!)

- All weapons are more powerful when pack-a-punched - some are lethal up until high rounds whilst being quite weak before being Pap'd - the Executioner is a prime example and is my favourite gun for Zombies.

- Up to wave 2/3 shots to the legs and a melee with earn up to 200 points per zombie if done right,

- After wave 2/3, go for head shots but beware that headless zombies do sometimes survive and can Gib (hit) you...

- Jugganog is a must on every map.... period (doubles the number of hits one can take before being knocked down).

Conserve ammo as much as possible.....

- Usually, turning the power on will always have a benefit - make it an early goal to turn it on as early as possible.

- On every map, there are spots where you can defend effectively, find them and use liberally - especially in higher waves.

- Dont be afraid to explore areas that seem off limits as often there are hidden items / weapons parts... (e.g. on tranzit, there is a cabin hidden in the mists that hold a bowie knife and parts required for a buildable item)

- Everything in game has a purpose and depending on how you play the map, some will be required whist their wont be.

- Spend money wisely in the early rounds as this often will determine how far you progress.

- Whilst it is only possible to buy 4 perks (choose wisely), it is possible to have more....

There is a strategy on these boards, posted by "Dazed High" or something similar that gives a good idea of how to start Tranzit - there are those that suggest different strategies but for some new to the map, that is a good way to start until you can establish
your own.
