YouTube Stops Buffers Almost Useless

My TV has a youtube app. My PS4 has a youtube app. My Xbox One has a youtube app.

The *TV* (Sammy) app and the PS4 app work, with only a rare occurrence of buffering or quality downshift.

The youtube app on Xbox One is an exercise in frustration. When it works correctly, the video quality is superb. Unfortunately, most of the time, the app buffers and stutters soon after hitting play for a selection. Frequently after the player stops playing,
it doesn't resume requiring me to back out and reselect the video again. And often when it does continue to play, the video quality downshifts to a resolution that is an embarrassment. It can take 10-15 minutes to watch a 5 minute video. No one will put up
with this.

Considering MS sells the Xbox One as an entertainment hub for the living room, it should have a working youtube app. People - the puny [Mod Removed] cpu in my
TV plays youtube without issue, sure it's lower quality but I'd rather watch 720p vs *nothing* on the XBone. The PS4 youtube app *just works*. High quality. No buffering. Fast forward. *It all just works*.
I've diagnosed this problem on enough devices during the same time period to know it's not a bandwidth issue. It's an XBone issue. Does the youtube app have to go through the Xbox Live network and get low priority? WTH?

Folks, I'm an Xbox One enthusiast. Right now I'm questioning that loyalty. Thank you.

Youtube App Sucks now

If its buffering then its down to your ip not being fast enough. It buffers because its playing the data faster than it can be downloaded. Mine NEVER buffers cause i have a 35mb download speed. Also...delete the useless and heavily restricted app and use
the browser to view youtube. Problem solved!

Why I am losing faith in MS and have none for the Xbox One

I use Youtube almost everyday on my Xbox 360 and the video quality is always HD and never buffers. I have a 30Mb/s download and 4Mb/s upload. Either your internet connection is sub-par to stream videos sufficiently or something else but Microsoft is not
at fault here.

I'm sorry to see you're facing difficulties with the YouTube App.

To help troubleshoot the issue, have you tried reinstalling the App?

Also - it may be worth doing a Network test in Settings >> Network to check that your Xbox One is connecting correctly. Please reply back with the results of the test.

My family uses youtube all the time and since the update we will start a video, get a few minutes in and it will start buffering and never stop. We back out and start it again fast forward to where we were and be able to watch for a little while longer and
it will buffer again and we have to back out again. Youtube works fine on every other system in the house, but it buffers on my xbox or locks up the system entirely. How do we fix this?

My connection is not great, mostly because i use wireless and its not very consistent so i get a lot of drops in my connection and when that happens the video will buffer most of the time. On the old Youtube app it would take like 10 or 15 seconds to buffer
sometimes less but i didn't buffer that much maybe 2 or sometimes 3 times a video. On the New youtube layout i get stuck in what seems like a endless buffer and have to restart the video 95% of the time to get out of it. If i have a 2 bar connection the video
plays with no problems but if i have a 3 bar it stops mid video and i get stuck in a buffer.

I personally liked the old version more because buffering was a issue but not that big of a problem. The new version i get stuck in endless buffers and sometimes i can't even get videos to play there also seems to be a endless video loading bug to which
is annoying. Hopefully they fix it I'm just going to use my computer from now on.
