YouTube on xbox one keyboard problem

my keyboard works with my xbox one on YouTube but only one problem i have found with it is you still have to use the xbox one controller to click y (search) as the keyboard wont open search bar when you click y?

YOUTUBE needs better option for search on xbox one. Hunting and pecking with plain controller sucks!! Voice search dont work on youtube. So chat or text or make a keyboard. Something!!!!!

Xbox doesnt allow the use of keyboard and mouse for fortnite

I was looking on youtube about the xbox one fortnite mouse and keyboard capability.. all the videos on the subject said PS4 AND XBOX ONE.. so i went and got myself a keyboard and mouse.. plugged it into my xbox went on fortnite and it didnt work.. so i went
and did more research and found out that it only works on ps4.. Yet they allow keyboard and mouse for minecraft a microsoft owned game.. Just want microsoft to allow the game to be able to use mouse and keyboard

Same here. I would suggest to xbox to fix the keyboard on the youtube app by putting the same keyboard as the one on internet explorer.

If you go to the youtube app on the Xbox One and go to the search you have the option to pair your phone to the youtube app. It'll give a code and you enter it at youtube.com/pair. Then you browse youtube with your phone and when you play a video it'll
play through your Xbox One. It's way easier than just using the phone for a keyboard.

Netflix doesn't have it I assume because of the dynamic searching it does where you type a letter and it brings up those titles and narrows it down and the app doesn't really call up the keyboard. It would be useful though.

why does everybody here blame microsoft, the ones who added the keyboard to the list of hardware developers could incorperate in to their software. Youtube develops the Youtube app. This is where Youtube developers shouldbe looking for problems and they
know it. I started this thread as a suggestion, before the last update turned the app into the mess that it is.

Hopefully we can get our subscriptions, watch it later back. And if its all working well again... ever... maybe they could do some development to incorperate smartglass.

Now why would Microsoft put a usable keyboard on tablet/handheld device that is supposed to work seamlessly with your Xbox? They haven't bothered to get the Youtube App running properly so I'm not surprised they just ignored a keyboard. They must have not
had enough money to hire a "keyboard" guy.

Sorry to hear you are running into problems with your Keyboard.

What game exactly is it that you are trying to jump into? Make sure that the game itself supports keyboard and mouse.
